Played the original Res Evils (1, 2 and 3) when I they first came out in my teens but never got round to the others. Saw this and heard some of the pre-release hype and thought why not give it a go, well... Holy sh*t!

Spent the whole weekend playing the game casually taking my time collecting items, unlocks, reading all the notes, story and finally just admiring the graphics and landscapes.

I don't usually write reviews but for this I had to. Game runs flawlessly, graphics are superb, gameplay is fluid, nice mix up of stealth and action with non-stop horror throughout. A story on its own but if you have played the originals you are also in for a treat. This is a masterpiece I will be playing again for sure.

Bought in 5 minutes of release, not played yet, but cute amimimals and two point museum, what's not to like!! 👍

Game is great!
Shame the same couldn't be said for the infrastructure (servers), community relations and management for allowing it to be in this state in the first place.

Releasing a game like this during summers holidays in the midst of Covid while also getting a spot on the front page of Steam and PS store is a simple enough equation for working out that over-egging your server infrastructure for the first month or two is the best approach and then you can always downscale later but unfortunately that was not the case here...

3 days of yoyo servers with the game being offline for more time than its actually been online.
Silly "beef" reference comments/updates on their discord to try and take the focus away from the lack of infrastructure planning and foresight.

Community representatives saying "ow, you all joined too quickly and caused our servers to fall over"... Really... Going to try and throw a joke out at the community for your lack of design on infrastructure... and also begging for people not to write negative reviews because of these issues. If you cant play the game you brought due to massive downtime then a bad review is warranted as you cant play...

Game itself - Good laugh 7/8 out of 10.
Infrastructure - An absolute joke 0/10.
Community reps and management - 0/10 for poor updates, execution of launch and allowing this state to happen in the first place.

The game will sit in my library in the hope one day the infrastructure will actually be able to cope being online for at least a day.

Personal opinion - Don't buy at present unless you like a carrot on a stick/horse scenario whereby you can play for minutes in between ridiculous downtimes.
