About 20 hours in and still having a blast. Stunning visuals and immersive game-play. If you're a casual player I have a few recommendations to help you on your journey. Stop crying and get good. Game was never made to be easy or perfectly balanced. It's a hard game for a reason. If you follow these simple steps you are on your way to becoming an Elden Lord. Who knows, you might even get some Maidens~

It's basically Ark: Survival but more polished, less laggy and with cooler content.

If you want to quickly know what this game is. Combine ARK, Pokemon and Conan Exile (just for wall climbing and automation) with Breath of the Wild Graphics.

Good game. But you better have someone good as your duo. If you're playing 2v2's and you get juggled dodging isn't an option. Unfortunately match making as of the beta isn't quite there yet. So you can be a level 2 vs a level 13 and lose because their special trait ability allows them to dodge with a heavy attack. So you literally can't stop them from using it.

Hopefully this matchmaking thing get's fixed with the full release but it might just be a trial by fire situation. Other then that the game is fun, just wish their was more characters on release.

Early Access Review
I believe that this game is wayyy too hyped up for what it is. Going in blindly to this game with all the things I have been told it seemed like a fun ghostbusting game where you would go into a haunted building and try and find the ghost and find out what kind it was to properly remove it from the establishment.

However when I got the game it was quickly found out to be quite different. You go to a building in a fully stocked truck with all kinds of equipment for hunting ghosts. Each one of you plays a unique role trying to find out where it is located. Once you have found the ghost and figure out what it is.... that's it. you leave. Nothing more to do other then exit the house and go to the next mission. Now don't get me wrong, the way the ghosts act is very spooky and fun. But I feel like that fact you do not get rid of the ghost is the biggest case of blue balling I have ever seen in a video game. I do not understand how it has so much hype around it.

A better outcome would be to find out what kind of ghost it is so that you can find out what the proper method would be to get rid of the ghost. That would be way more satisfying then just leaving after putting in so much work. I think it's annoying and honestly made me kind of mad. Now I know the game is still in Early Access so there is room to make the game better, but I don't see it being in the games future as most of the game has already been planned out so the content will most likely be more kinds of ghosts and different tools and building.

So for these reasons I'm going to give it a bad review. I hope this makes sense and I hope that this helps other people who actually want to know what kind of game this really is.

Where do I begin?

Risk of Rain 2 is one of the best examples of what a good game development team is capable of doing. If you liked the first RoR then it is a fact that you will fall in love with the second game. When I heard that Hopoo Games turned RoR into a three dimensional game I thought it was going to be horrible as not many companies can completely change the style of the game without changing any of the core mechanics of the game.

However this is pulled off brilliantly with amazing graphics that just feel right with every little detail fitting in correctly. I give this game an S++ on just being able to keep me feeling at home even with the change from side scroller to a three dimensional game.

Now to the gameplay

This game consists of the same thing for each level. You will teleport to a environment and the ultimate goal is to get as many items as you can and get to the next level be finding the teleporter. Very straight forward but there is a lot more to it then just repeating yourself as the bosses will get harder and the difficulty increases the longer you play the game to the point that bosses will spawn as normal enemies. The game will do everything in its power to make sure you don't get to the end, and that is a good motivator to win each run. (Also the fact that having the right items and combinations will make your character stupidly broken and make you feel amazing the longer you play.)

You can also only party up with a maximum of 3 other friends (4 players in total) which is fine as it makes it less chaotic when you are trying to make sure everyone has enough items to survive as not as many chests spawn early in the game making it harder for you to scale into the late game giving you even more of a challenge.

Side note

It could just be my love for both RoR and RoR2 but when it comes to Cons the only thing I can give you is that it will eat at your clock. You can very easily spend 2 -3 hours in a game. Thankfully there is a clock in the top right corner that tells you how many minutes you have been playing the run for other then that I have zero problems with this game.
