Pros;
Super well optimised, fast load times.

Cons;
WAY too much jumping/platforming challenges in main path (should minimal or mostly for secrets/bonus)
Combat has too many fiddly abilities that are required for survival.
Almost all combat is in arenas and arenas are overlong

Summary;
After a few hours I am just not enjoying this game and I really came in to this wanting to love it. By contrast thoroughly enjoyed the first 85-90% of Doom (2016) only finding the arena fights a bit excessive towards the very end. Doom: Eternal unfortunately appears to be almost exclusively arena fights which last too long. Every fight now seems to be like a late game arena fight form the previous game AND IT'S JUST SO BORING! To compound this combat is weighed down by lots of little mechanics that get in the way of some good run and gun fun. Whenever you finish slogging through endless waves of enemies in a tiny locked room, expect to have to do bunch of stiff and awkward parcour through convoluted jumping puzzles, literally being made to jump through hoops just to get to the next overdrawn arena.

TLDR: pretty but falls flat with excessive jumping puzzles and stale gimmick plagued combat

surprisingly deep, surprisingly fun, good for split attention tasks. Needs a bit more info but the community guides are really good.
