A lot of reviews say that it is too similar to Slay the Spire to justify the purchase and that the 3 main characters are essentially the same style. They are a fairly similar you have a self damaging character with a rage mechanic that allows them to play their big cards for free and some cards that use rage to do additional effects, a character with a bullet and magazine mechanic who has a lot of 0 cost casts, discard and dodge and finally you have a minion spawning character who can buff or sacrifice their minions for various effects.
The game has a very nice style I think and does a few things a little different to Slay the Spire, the characters have activated abilities and you can get more from bosses if you choose them over the more game changing perks, there are also the lesser perks which you can get from regular battles and from the merchant.
The items and random events are pretty similar to Slay the Spire but I don`t think many of the enemies and bosses are direct lifts from Slay the Spire.
The issues I have with the game have to do with the translations, there are some undefined mechanics and a little inconsistency with the terms and a couple straight up untranslated Chinese cards and bosses.
Ultimately I`d say if you enjoy Slay the Spire you`ll enjoy this.
