Very fun so far. I enjoy the fishing more than the restaurant management, but even that part is pretty straightforward. Lots of stuff still to explore.

It's somehow an improvement on the gameplay of the original. Tons of fun, and I know I'll be playing for a long time.

Simply the greatest point and click game of all time. I think the humor has aged well and still holds up. The updated graphics are nice, but didn't blow me away. However, this is just one of those games that everybody should play.

If you liked Season One of The Walking Dead from Telltale Games, you should like this too. I don't think it's quite as good as that, but it's still a fun and engrossing story. Filled with great characters and memorable set pieces, I definitely give this a thumbs up.

But it seems there are a million reviews all stating how great the story is an everything, so I'm going to nitpick a few things that will hopefully prove more informative.

I would call this a choose your own adventure game opposed to a point and click game. You basically enjoy the story and make decisions along the way. Each chapter has one or two "action" set pieces that consist of QTEs that I'm not even sure if you can fail. The decisions are important though. Some are clearly favored to one perspective while others are more ambiguous as to their outcome. Yet others are just "eff you, I'm the Big Bad Wolf." Some decisions will lock you out of entire areas to investigate. There is an inventory, yet it's pointless, you never have to combine items or use the right item on the right background object. There really aren't any puzzles to solve. So like I said, it's more a book than a game, even though it's a damn fine one at that.

I also didn't feel like the story lived up to the conclusion of the first episode. The rest of the episodes are good, but they never reach that "holy s--t!!" moment at the end of the episode one. The season does end with a rather spectacular action sequence, but then the ensuing conversations and final decision kind of drag on, losing that intensity.

But again, just nitpicking. You should definitely check it out for yourself.

I kissed hobos. I poisoned a cowboy. I swallowed a pigeon whole. Easily the most hilarious and surreal game I have played in a long time. It is so funny. My only wish is that it didn't end - in 3 hours I got 100% and I think I saw almost all the dialogue too. The next time it's on sale, just buy it.

If you like a sense of humor in your games, this is a great little puzzle platforming adventure. It feels like an old Tim Schafer point and click game. The puzzles are never very tough and the platforming is never tricky, but the humor and the top notch voice acting carry this game. Easily some of the best characters I've seen in a game recently. Just be aware that there are only 10 chapters which take about half an hour each to complete. I picked it up on sale for around $5 which is a great deal, but I wouldn't have a problem if I paid $15 for it - I know I'll replay it at some point, it's too funny not to.

A great little puzzle platformer. Beautiful artwork and solid gameplay. Pretty linear, but the pacing is really excellent, there is rarely a dull moment. Collecting all the scrolls and the several boss fights add a nice challenge. It took me five hours to 100% so it's not too challenging and there is not much replayability. But I would still completely recommend it as it's one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a while. It's good value at full price, but when it's on sale, it's a must-buy. Avoid spoilers or guides at all costs. It offers a nice sense of discovery if you don't know what you're in for.

Thought I'd write a quick review since I just played through this this weekend and it has shown up in another bundle. I want to like Inescapable more than I do. I followed it for a while during development because I like the retro graphics and "metroidvania" always gets my attention. But this is not a metroidvania. It's a rather linear experience of fetching a relic, back-tracking, and opening the corresponding door. Lather, rinse, repeat. Oh, and that back-tracking? That's about 75% of the game. Not exploring and the sense of progression you get with a true "metroidvania", but endless back-tracking. And there is no map, and most of the backgrounds are just palette swaps. So you will get lost. A lot.

Also, no music. Which I didn't mind because the ambient sounds helped set the mood. No story either. There is some vague, generic sci-fi stuff going on. But it is never explained. And then the game just ends. Seriously, the least-climactic, most unexpected ending I've ever experienced.

That being said, there is still something about this game that I like. I won't recommend it at $5, but since you can get it in a bundle like I did, it's worth a shot. It won't take more than 2 hours of your time.

Probably the least helpful recommendation ever. "It's not good, but I recommend it" isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.

I came into this game knowing it was the single player co-op game, many friends had recommended it, and not much else. That is the way to do it. It is absolutely worth the 4-6 hours it will take to complete and every new chapter managed to again take my breath away. It is an incredible story of loss and growth set in an utterly realized yet fantastical world. Sometimes controlling the brothers at the same time is confusing (it's the video game equivalent of patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time), but it is not enough to take away from this journey. Immediately jumps into the top of the "video games as art" conversation. Play it now.

Relax and use your brain. It's nice if not groundbreaking. At around 2 hours to 100%, I still don't have any problem with a $3 price tag (or more likely the bundle you got it in). Great for a quick game break at work or to relax a bit from the AAA titles.
