I'm disappointed because this is just a demo, without clearly stating it is a demo. Steam has a way to provide demos on the same pages as the actual product. So you get a feel for the game, and then dead end.

Game's ok if you're into this type of game play. Was fun with the kids. But very disappointing when we realized it was just a demo.

Performance on Linux, AMD, is not what it should be.

In the end, no real reason to play this over CHEX.WAD in a Doom source port.

Performance was bad through Proton, FOV was dumb. Kids asked instead if they could play the old Chex Quest.

General Mills should have just updated some of the textures and models with these 3d counterparts and packaged up JDoom or something. This is just a quick and dirty port to Unreal Engine, which doesn't add much here.

Does not run through SteamPlay and is not likely to, ever, given the use of BattlEye.

I am about an hour and a half into SS3BFE. I'm on the 4th or so chapter.

So far, I feel like I am missing a weapon that really makes run and gun fun. I fondly remember some SS2 battles that I just haven't gotten the same "oomph" out of yet in SS3. The weapons I've picked up so far, except for the sledge hammer, just feel kind of "meh". I am using a shotgun in wide open areas. Some of the boss fights are an interesting setup, with some interactivity with the environment that is kind of cool. The melee "moves" are a little silly and don't add much to the game play-style wise. Bummed I can't seem to execute them while reloading. The voice acting, as is SS's trademark, is a little bad. The story line tenuous and quirky. It overall has left me feeling kind of "meh" so far. I enjoy playing Doom 2 with the Brutal Doom expansion quite a bit more so far.

I do have to give them thumbs up for supporting Linux. I wouldn't own the game or have been able to play it otherwise. But I'm not really sure I would have missed much...

It's not a bad game... I don't recommend you NOT buy it... but I would never mention it (so far) to someone as a game they should buy.

Cons:
-Fairly short (played it while the kids were asleep in one sitting!).
-Might be a little frustrating if you've never rocket jumped.

Pros:
+Fun
+Good atmosphere
+Free

I found this in my library with no recollection of having installed it. It's free, it was quick, I had no idea what to expect, and left "happy" that I had played it.

Early Access Review
Several issues under Linux that make this not recommended until they fix them.

Will update this review as progress is made on the fixes, as well with review of gameplay. First 45 minutes was spent just trying to get it to work. :-)

Runs on Debian testing without any apparent fuss. Interface feels good and not glitchy. Completed a few puzzles. Game seems to work as expected! Yay!

This is pretty much exactly like The Incredible Machine. I can't wait to subject my daughter to it. Thanks for bringing it back and supporting Linux!

Lots of fun and replayability, but crashes way too often. At least in Linux, this game crashes too often to be playable. Multi-player is an especially huge letdown because you will randomly crash out while leaving your buddies to fend without you. This seems like the most common issue on the forum, and may not even be confined to just Linux.

If it weren't for the crashes, I would recommend it heartily.
