Man. I loved this game. It was truly unique. In a lot of ways, it still is! Unfortunately, David and the Crytek team continuously push this game further and further from its hardcore fan base with every patch and update.

Every fix is either didn’t need fixed or creates multiple new issues. Every promise is under delivered or pushed off for literal years. Recently, crossovers have been implemented that no one cared to ask for.

We put up with a lot over the years. I’m not ready to be advertised to. I mostly play console, but I think I’m ready to put the game down for good.

I don’t normally enjoy SCI-FI games. Hell, I don’t even like shooters 90% of the time.

This game is something else though. The missions are long, grueling, and hilarious. The gunfights are fast, intense, and hilarious. The story/culture of the game is innovative, immersive, and it’s ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious.

This game has sucked me in immediately. If you're a fan of slower paced roguelike games like Slay the Spire then this is absolutely the game for you. I highly recommend going through the entire game completely blind. The most exciting part of the game is discovering new interactions every run, most of which will probably be on accident. The story is enticing but not at all necessary for you to have a great experience. Loop Hero is also a fantastic game to play while watching something else on the side. With that in mind, grinding out 100% completion was enjoyable the entire way through.

Do yourself a favor and just buy it already. I've never recommended a game to anyone more in my life.

Its the game we all anticipated. The game we all wanted to be good and put as much time as we could on release week to make sure we got a real feeling of what the game wanted to be. I really hope it turned out to be all you wanted it to be but for me I was incredibly disappointed. I'm new to reviews so this isn't going to be absurdly fleshed out.

While Cyberpunk is visually enticing and has an interesting world concept, I just couldn't find anything mechanically that really stood out to me as innovative or addicting. The skill trees felt like each specific area was having its own identity crisis on what it wanted to truly make the characters combat experience into. A lot of combat mechanics are strictly superior to others even without any investment into said mechanics. Even with mechanics like hacking the game didn't at all feel excitingly new as a FPS RPG. In that sense starting a new character and replaying the game absolutely feels like a waste of time to me. This is especially frustrating with the limitations the game puts on respec-ing your character to try other builds.

On top of that, the story isn't incredible either. The writing seemed to lean on the sci-fi aspects of the game instead of strong character development. This might also just be a strange personal gripe, but I had a hard time giving a ♥♥♥♥ about most characters. This was especially true for Johnny. While I also love Keanu Reeves I couldn't stand the fact that the whole story piggybacked off of a celebrity appearance for a character that spent the whole game frustrating the hell out of me. I kept waiting for Johnny's character to redeem himself throughout the main story and then it was over and I felt incredibly unsatisfied after serious buildup. After completing the main story I closed the game and checked out the other endings online because honestly at that point playing felt like a chore. I had lost interest in the ability to influence the story on my own and the combat had left me disappointed enough to not open the game back up since then.

Then there's the real issues that are why I would truly not recommend someone spend money on Cyberpunk 2077. The bugs can be loading issues, broken dialogue, bugged textures, etc. There are dozens if not hundreds more issues I have both read and heard about from friends that I never experienced. This game was not finished when it was released. The part that really makes this awful is that insane working conditions CD Projekt Red put on its employees to even get it into the state it was into on launch. A state that was also completely unplayable on old gen consoles that resulted in refunds galore due to what was serious false advertisement.

Save your money. If supporting CD Projekt Red doesn't bother you (which is fine, I'm not trying to hard enforce a moral dilemma here) then wait a year or two when the game is optimized better, maybe has DLC, and most importantly has a community with insanely fleshed out and interesting mods. This game has a ton of potential in that respect.
