An absolute joy of a game, building upon and improving everything the soulsborne series has offered thus far. You will struggle, die, and die again - and you will love it.

More bugs than the Amazon. From minor glitches like having a seizure every time a bed is used to broken quest missions to 3-minute-long black screens that aren't loading-related. It's clear that corners were cut, especially when it came to the last 1/4 of the main missions.

The story is an absolute dumpster fire. Be prepared to have characters' motivations and attitudes toward you change as frequently as your weapon load-out. I lost count of the amount of times your character either gets knocked out, blacks out, or just closes his eyes for no reason so that """plot""" can happen.

All that said, the game play is the main pull and is genuinely fun. Playing with friends is a joy, especially when you're both laughing at all the glitches. I had a lot of fun with the time I put into this game, so I can't say I wholly recommend against it.

It's not worth the full price tag at the moment. Wait a couple months for it to go on sale. Hopefully by then it'll get some bug-squashing patches.

Puzzle/Mystery game with top notch art style and music. A walking simulator for sure, so be warned. While it doesn't have much in the movement or controls department, it has loads of thought put into the actual solving of the mystery. In fact, this game is worth it alone for it's unique style of gameplay mechanics.

It's short. You absolutely don't need to solve every aspect of it on your first run unless you're obsessive. Unfortunately for obsessive types, once you only have minor details left to solve, you'll start to feel diminishing returns for your time spent.

Take it at your own pace, explore naturally, and enjoy it. If you get frustrated with a particular puzzle, just move on. Avoid walk-throughs/guides at all costs.

I spent 7 hours staring at a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ book - 8/10

Should have stopped playing after the first hour. Then I would have actually had a chance at a refund. But I kept playing, hoping somehow the game would grow into something better as the story progressed. Instead I was shown a massive universe filled with easily recognizable patterns, lifeless dialogue, and often useless upgrades. This game could have been justified (albiet not at this outrageous price) as walking-simulator or wallpaper-generator if the planets it created were ever truely unique or even moderately beautiful. However, the game fails in boths these regards as well as in so many other ways.

I don't write many reviews and this is the first negative one I've posted. However, I felt like I needed to add my voice to the others in complaint.

I'm sorry to say that I was a victim of this non-stop hype train to nowhere.

This is one of the better examples of Telltale improving their game mechanics. The on screen interface is more intuitive and stylish, the action sceanes are actually engaging, and the choices are better and more varied. The story itself is pretty gripping, at least as far as episode 1 and 2 sor far. However, the actual detective elements are pretty bare-bones. Don't expect any "eureka" moments here, the game will pretty much state everything flat out. Still, the game is well worth it for the art style, story, and interesting lore behind the Fables universe.

There are some issues with frame stutting, especially when the game has to load a montage of player choices/consquences, but it's nothing to be too broken up over. The most diappointing thing about The Wolf Among Us is its length. Episode 1 lasts for a couple hours (depending on you play speed) and does an excellent job of setting up the mythos and the story to come. However, episode 2 barely clocks in at 1.5 hours. With chuncks of game this small and with such a long time gap inbetween episode realeses, it's hard to feel like you're making any progress.

Overall, the game is worth the buy. However, if you're the impatient type, it may be best to wait until more of the episodes come out.
