My journey with Dungeon Alchemist

My departure

I stumbled on Dungeon Alchemist not really by mistake. As a foreverGM for multiple groups of friends, I searched a lot for tools that could help me create fantastic maps.

This software picked my interest due to the regular updates, and the 3Dmaps (which DungeonDraft do not do).

The journey

A really easy to learn, easy to master tool, Dungeon Alchemist is a fantastic software that I fully recommend to every DM. Quick creation of maps, or not if you really tinker the map to fit perfectly your story.

As your mastery grow and grow, you will learn that not only the maps export are useful (it got direct export for the Foundry format), you will also use little videos and other more obscure features to make your games better.

The arrival

If you are a GM/DM that looks for a nice tool to help you create maps, just buy it now, you will not regret it !

My Journey with The Forgotten City

My departure

I stumbled first upon this game at an E3. I played Skyrim, but never the mod, as at the time I was not as proficient in English as of today.

The game picked my interest as I searched for a interesting detective game, and the set up in the Ancient Rome seems wonderful.

The journey

In the first hours of my gameplay experience, The Forgotten City really amazed me : good graphics, nice storytelling, wonderful dialogues.

As the game progresses, the journey went better and better. Once you passed the first day, the new gameplay element really catched with me by surprise, as I did not know that the time passes in this game (wonderfully represented by the sun). I took my time, discover and learn to know the people of this City.

I only found that the part of the game you can skip if you do not like action/horror is, in fact, not really skippeable, as it gives you really a nice advantage.

The arrival

The Forgotten City is a nice game/experience. Is the Roman set up well done ? Kinda.
Would I recommend it full price ? Maybe not (except if your friends/SO can play it after) as it is quite short.

In the end, if you have a nice discount on it, just go for it !

My Journey with Chasm

My departure

I searched for a game that remind me of the good old Castlevania AoS and other Metroidvania. I played a lot of them, and I stumbled upon Chasm.

The journey

In the first hours of my gameplay experience, Chasm was really fun : exploring the Mines, killing monsters, looting... The levels was sometimes hard and you are always looking at your health. But then I looted a special weapon (a quality drop if you want). And then it began.

I was overpowered. And it was at that moment that all the good parts of the game were sunk under all the bad sides : the quests, the levels proceduraly-generated that could (I don't think is still the case today) block you, clunky jumps...

The arrival

Chasm is a good idea, a good little game, but not the Metroidvania you are looking for.

My journey with Still Circus

My departure

I decided to go on a quest for a good replacement to Rocket League, soon becoming an Epic exclusive at the time.

Steel Circus, yet in alpha, seemed to be a really interesting game with interesting points.

My journey

With the team, we begin to play this game. Matchmaking was not perfect and it lacked some other features, but it was really fun. We won a lot, I bought the pack at the time because I was really thinking that the devs did a great job.

Then, the time passed. No new characters, no new arena... the playerbase diminished and go to other games.

The arrival

I hope the game will evolve in a good way, but today it seems to be in a desert. My journey to find another co-op fast-paced game continues.
