Incredible, I love it.
Gameplay-wise it's similar to the Hitman formula, but with smaller scale puzzles, plus it does bring it's own identity into the picture as well.
The presentation is awesome with a really charming vibe, the jokes frequently land well. It's pure fun that makes you want to play more.
Just keep in mind that you're only paying for the first episode, which seems to include about 10 kinds of smaller heists in the same location, still, there's a lot to do, it's a big playground with many ways to complete the objective.
Also, expect a few glitches and audio issues, as some parts are undercooked, but the game itself is so fun and charming I just couldn't care less.
Happy to stumble on this gem and I can't wait for the next episodes.

The game is very rough and lifeless, I'm so sorry.

It's very generic in every way, every NPC has one single idle animation and one single voiceline (that often have audio issues or mismatching subtitles), and that's it. Places that should be crowded now become lifeless and silent with everyone standing or sitting in an idle state. I walked into the most busy bar in town and the loudest sound inside was my clothing brushing against itself as the character is breathing. It looks like a game from 2010 in every aspect.

I'd say compared to it's very ambitious target, looks like the game is about 30% finished.

I've never played an Anno game before, so I went in with no expectations.
I'm enjoying the game more than I thought I would. The building system is nice, not overly complicated at this point, but complex enough to cause a healthy amount of confusion that can be solved by just slowing down and taking your time to plan out the buildings. The presentation is also very pretty, the controls are nice, information is mostly relayed in an understandable way. No bugs yet, no complaints, and the Ubisoft aspect is not only fine, but I barely even noticed.
As much as refunding would save my wallet and time, unfortunately I enjoyed it a lot, and time flew by quickly playing it. It's a nice packaged experience so far that I'd recommend to fellow newcomers.

After many poor Battlefield launches, they finally gave the keys to a director who just doesn't miss. It really shows.
Especially if you let your competitive mindset down, you can see how cinematic the game can be: from the way the launched up dust blends with the smoke trail of missiles, to the moments where you're dragging your fallen teammate on a building that's crumbling down into the same dust, it all feels like a movie. Even when you die it's rather a moment of "wow, this is how I would have died in this situation in real life". And I think that also one of the reasons why you see that players more often contribute to the teamwork and playing the objective together as an ecosystem, instead of individually sweating.
I encourage everyone who plays the game to try the former, and enjoy the experience. That way it's easy to recommend.

Early Access Review
Fun idea with great execution, although quite short. Can't wait to see the updates in the future.

The game's crazy good fun. Fun with friends, fun with others. You can build your own deck and play with whatever's fun for you and it will be competitive enough.
