Honestly, after completing Cult of the Lamb I'm disappointed. I expected there to be a lot more.
I spent the first 10 hours stressing over resource management, then when it came to playing the combat sections it was breeze- handily defeating the major boss in under a minute by mashing attacks on Hard.
The game has a cute combination of rogue-lite and a sims survival kinda thing, but both genres these genres shine with longer playtime and replayability. Limited item selection and frustratingly short hunger and life cycles just leave me wishing there was more gameplay to make up for it.
I actually have a lot of minor complaints about the game that added up- no controller bindings, poorly balanced weapons (Short range low damage dagger, axe that does tons of damage and attacks just as fast with roll cancels) and tarot cards (One gives you fish, another gives you a massive damage multiplier), being forced to kill followers, followers unable to feed themselves, buildings decaying, almost all food having penalties. Out of all the overworld areas to explore, the only place I gave the time of day was the fishing dock, the others are basically another shop. I'd be fine with unlocking decorations, if it took longer than 20 hours to complete the entire game.
It's a cute game carried by a strong idea and art style, but the only gameplay element executed well boils down to: axe, roll, axe, roll. Sadly disappointing and cannot recommend.

Early Access Review
Adding EAC destroyed this game. Accessibility, quality of life, and crash prevention mods all gutted. Malicious mods practically untouched.
Hey developers: listen to your community. You made a free game, we made it better. Don't think you can capitalise on it for personal gain without consequences.
Just unbelievable.
