Excuse me, I need your advice/help.

I went to by Legacy of Kain: Defiance on here, but read the comments first, and noticed you mention something about Xpadde, or something like that. I looked it up, and is mentions a gamepad...I am assuming it means a controller...I just wanted to ask, if you could help me with this, in understanding what xpadde is, and how to hook a controller up to my laptop to play.
