Great game and Sony backed down over a bank holiday weekend. Impressive. Lets put these numbers back up at the height they deserved and deserve again :)

Great game being bombed by petty muppets, a stone cold classic.

TBH spending the ACTUAL day Sony make the 2nd game officially and ACTUALLY unplayable for hordes of people, playing this to make a point that day would say something a little more nuanced...

pre 2023 great game
2023: nope

Now they have removed a third of the content of a game we have owned for a decade so they can charge you a monthly sub cost to get access to a couple of them every week. Game killing greed.
They killed RDO with less than they are trying here. Guessing gta6 will be yet another dead on arrival live service fail at this rate too.

Eurgh , all time spent wrestling with menu, pad works for part of menu but not closing it then starts/stops. Demo now is madness. Wait 5 minutes to see if pad will/won't work. Does! but not for the only option on the screen. Many buttons now open menus and blank spaces where buttons may live one day. Sigh.

Have to say, on the one hand, it is glitchy and rough as a badgers arse BUT , THE DRIVING IS SPOT ON PERFECT.
Feels exactly like old skool micro machines, the driving phsyics AND the impact physics. The general track chaos hits the vibe of Sega Megadrive era micromachines too. So many attempts have been made to replicate top down driving, and Circuit Breakers on the PS1 was the only one that came close. Toybox Turbos is 90000% times more polished but nudging other cars in that is WOEFUL by comparison.
Diamond in the rough here. Wish these dudes all the goodwill in the world while they work on it, because what IS here is the first REALLY GOOD attempt to make something that really nails how it should feel ;)

on a second burst , after cooling off , LOVE IT.
Hopefully get a chance tomorrow to see how remote play races feel. *excite*

(btw the glitches are fine tbh, have had to restart 3 races Vs AI after 1/5 pts scored and a freeze that lets you restart in a second. Trivial !)

Shovelware. Assuming someone opened Unity on their lunchbreak and after 1/2 an hour thought I MADE GAYM!

Wrongly.

Edit. Had to play to make 5 minute limit. Painful..
Just so poorly laid out amd unclear, somehow muddled even though it could not be more basic.

I have a high tolerance , even fondness for arty not game experimental oddities. this really IS just the pictures above. Nothing else. Sigh. Guessing the positives must be an updated rickroll..

Well played.

I guess.

See recent reviews saying p2w, sigh, from a game you NEVER need to pay a penny to play.
2 cards out of EVERY CARD THAT EXISTS are gated for a month when new , NO NEED TO INCLUDE THEM EVEN WHEN FREE VERY SOON, it's not hearthstone...

Have been playing this for ages with quite a few friends playing, everyone who played it once is still playing. Was stunned to see the reviews are not more favourable, constant dev feedback and updates, Game throws cards at you so there is no need to pay them a dime. First 200 hours play I didn't spend a single penny so people calling this pay to win are wrong.
New game modes have been added in that time, fixes are swift, adjustments are swift. Honestly just play it and decide. ;)

(Also you get cards that make a game winning deck just doing the tutorial 1 player challenges at the start, remade that deck last night and still won using it. Knowing how to place is more important than the cards you have..)

2021 2nd update: has had a solid surge in player numbers and updates/communication/events etc
The rewards for casual play really are a joy, and a lot happening NOW for the new player experience including 4 new steam good value (and also low cost) bundles within the next month, K9 Urbie cute and also good :)

Played a while in beta and it was ok. Wandered off around when ECM got introduced and totally broke the game for a longish while. Saw it added on Steam and thought worth seeing what had changed in maybe 4 years. |
Quite a lot. New systems seem better and/or less grindy or flawed than what they replaced. Work has been done ALL OVER it. Happy I looked again. It will be in my and buddies game rotation for a while this time. In top slot of half of our little band atm :)
Worth a look/second look.
Worth doing a little reading though, systems/mechanics can be a little opaque and doesn't take much looking to be way better off.
Quite a hefty chuck of cash thrown at new players which is nice.

Update: They are filling up with events so that you have different plans that week or that day. Good motivation to try Faction play or to go for kills or for teamwork or skip the 12 on 12 and just do the 4 v 4 'scout' games which are really close up brawling pit fights for lots of different bonuses, in game cash/consumables/free mechs/comedy warhorns so you have theme music when you cap someones 85 ton ass that they get the joy of hearing too ;)
It's been aa lot of fun and a short relook is still turning out to be a lot of gaming. (After WoT's expectation of forever grinding for any new toys and hours play every day over holidays for a freebie vehicle it is lovely to play such a generous game that also respects your time is worth something :)
Since writing this have gotten 5-6 premium mechs gratis for just playing a little for the fun of it and those can play the best mechs in game as equals. (Not counting any I bought on top of those with in game credits as well.)
Minor update nov 18
Still firing out premium mechs at a friendly rate, events almost always and mostly very easy to get solid rewards. Solaris arena mode was a bit underwhelming though. Only real issue is queue times for games with friends as a group depending on when you play as most popular in US.
