Well, they released a "next-gen" update, the game physics are still tied to FPS so you're forced to play at 60 or the game speed is 2.5x, not only that most mods are dead, specially the ones relying in FSE, which mind you are a lot;

For instance; the "high fps fix mod" is dependant on that, so I'm forced to play in 60FPS or not play at all. You've got to tweak the Fallout4.Ini file a lot, remove V-Sync, scale the mouse so the X/Y angles aren't faster than the other... this game is such a hassle to get to work... It's a good game mind you, the story is good enough, the mechanics are good, and overall you'll get a very good experience (if you mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of it)

Furthermore I play at 3440x1440, their fix with widescreen is just "scaling" the HUD, so everything is stretched out and not properly scaled, guess what? You'll have to use mods to play this game properly in widescreen... so yeah last update was like 5 years ago... they just updated this ♥♥♥♥ with a fan made mod from the Bethesda store that they made "free", yeah the "Enclave is back" stuff they're saying is just mods that the community made with a quest... they ironed out like 3 bugs and called it a day.

TL;DR: Feels like they slapped the 1.0 label just to get sales rolling, wait for the devs to release hotfixes regarding performance this game is in no way a 1.0 version. The amount of times I failed a mission because the game decides I don't have a gun or one of my team members don't have one either is laughable.

This game so far is still missing a quick restart button, it's missing proper optimization, it's missing a proper sense of progress other than cosmetics, the enemy AI still feels unbalanced, one game I wipe the floor with them, next time I'll get my ass kicked by this god like AI.

Speaking of, in the briefing it states that they're robbing a gas station, you would expect some teenagers trying to get some quick cash? No, they act like domestic terrorists just guns blazing for 200€. Like dude... it's a gas station not Maze Bank, the AI should be more "life" like? instead of just being robots that aim snap to your head and occasionally surrender. Some missions scenarios should add ambiguity and make suspects behave more cowardly towards a full SWAT team instead, they should add a pressure mechanic, if I kill 4 suspects the last one should assume a more static role and be more prone to surrendering, wouldn't you surrender if your friend got his head blown by a shotgun?

The game is good, but it lacks so much polish, the gun play is powerful, the audio design is good, the weapons feel truly like their real counterpart. I can see where the game is gonna die down due to repetitiveness, specially since there's no real sense of progression other than cosmetics, they could have locked some guns or equipment to spice up the gameplay but no, only cosmetics.

They're still using Unreal Engine 4 instead of 5, which is a bummer, they don't compile shaders before playing the game, so each time you play a new map, which is always, you'll have insane stutters, if you play the same map twice the stutters are nearly gone. For a game where 0.2ms means the difference between life and death, it's unacceptable, the maps are relatively small, I don't understand how this game isn't butter smooth specially with DLSS (I've got a Ryzen 9 5950x and a 3080 before you blame my rig)

This is amateur level of development counting that it's been in early access for a year now.

What is the veil? Why are we here? Why can we wield strand? Why do everyone act like we know what's going on? Why is the writing and pacing so oddly put together? Why can't I explore the map without getting 1 tapped by anything? Why do the missions feel like the dev teams just said "How many enemies can we fit in this small room?", why did the marketing seemed like we were in danger when in game I just feel like I'm playing any other campaign? Why aren't we given any answers on anything even tho this is supposed to be the second to last? Why did I pay 60€ for this?

The new recent update "overhauling infantry" has really killed the game for me, call me names, tell me to go play CoD, but (being in the army) I'm able to jog, prone and hit 2 bullets on target, every single army in this planet has basic training, one of the modules near the end of boot camp requires you to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hit targets while moderately tired or stressed. It's our ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ job. This update rewards people that camp around all game, hold angles like it's Omaha beach, you get punished for doing basically any type of movement during a firefight, now firefights revolve around who has LMG's to mow down and trigger the suppression effect on the enemy side while just waiting in bushes for the enemy to do anything.

I've played quite a few hours in this game, and I've always appreciated the compromise between realism and squad coordination to get the upper hand, but now they made infantry obsolete, now infantry has to be static MG's just holding an angle for hours, forget about pushing any type of entrenchment or anything for that matter, even if the infantry inside is minimal or outmatched by twice it's fire power, you're most likely gonna loose against a guy holding an angle for 5 min straights, you couple that with the fact you can't really flush them unless you spam grenades like a mad man.

There is no valid reason for your ADS to be 5 seconds with full stamina and being prone to stabilize 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shot into it's body, couple that with the unrealistic recoil, we are shooting 5.56, it's literally the most stable caliber regarding NATO, we ain't shooting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blunderbuss from Pirates of the Caribbean; you can easily dump 5 shots into a straight line with minimal recoil, at least let us have double taps if you want to be "realistic". C'mon.

This isn't realism, this update caters to a minority who seem to be the loudest in the community, the player-base remains stable solely for the fact there isn't any other competition on the market regarding realism and somewhat casual play, other than the infamous CoD or Battlefield. Furthermore, I'm a firm believer a lot of people just boot the game to hit the range and just test guns for a couple of hours and call it a day, judging by how most of the time you've got 2-4 servers full then the rest are between 30-5 players.

The game in of itself is good, gun play is good, stealth gets kinda boring after 3 runs, it's green light, red light stealth.

The matchmaking is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible, you select "English" and "Voice only", you'll get matchmade with Chinese people, people who don't own mics, people who treat this game like it's Call of Duty, or worse people who once you're near the end of a 4h run; they disconnect and you have to start all over.

If you have friends, grab the game, if not GTFO.

I played this game with the Xbox Game Pass (paid like 1€). I highly recommend doing that and not purchasing this game like I've done a few days ago.

It's getting nominated for bs awards, when in reality it needs some more time in the oven. It's good, but lacks any real reason to purchase it for 40-80€. In my opinion it's a 30€ game released by a AAA company at full price, you even can purchase DLC's that aren't even out yet! How lovely!

Oh and if you ever shot a gun before you'll get disappointed you put a bullet in the chamber each time you reload, regardless of if you already have one trimmed and ready to shoot! It's 2021... you guys should be more informed.

Early Access Review
This game slaps, you will get PTSD from the trenches, you'll end up patching someone who got blown by a 30mm round while dodging gas grenades and mortar shells raining down on you.

This game will make you LIVE WW1/2 just at the comfort of your gaming chair, or Fox News chair for the weird ones. Stop reading, get it, get in-game and kick some Warden ass!
