This is the only game I've ever requested a refund for.

There's a lot of discussion right now about performance and bugs, and those things I could forgive, they are almost part and parcel of the stalker experience but what I cannot move past is the incredibly poor design and fundamental mechanics of the series being completely missing.

Bloodsuckers for example are boring and uninteresting encounters, little more than bullet sponges. AI characters in combat do very little of interest or challenge simply repeating the same few canned lines and throwing some grenades. There is no difference between engaging a pack of bandits, a squad of military veterans, or a couple newbie stalkers wandering the zone the combat is always the same flat, dull, un-interesting.

Lastly the complete abandonment of A-Life is wild, what once felt like a living interesting world in the old game is now a barren and empty wasteland, enemies pop into existence right before your eyes and you can easily find yourself in a place where bandits will spawn indefinitely.

Just an absolutely awful game. If you enjoyed the first series at all, its time to try some expansions or mods but under no circumstances should you buy this garbage.
