No bueno. Nice novelty game, don't expect to have fun if you're trying to win. The save system is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and the missions are a nightmare.

tl;dr 10/10 i turned the dolomiti into pasta bologniti

Another hit with the Verdun games team. Having played Verdun before Tannenberg came out, and then Tannenberg, and then now Isonzo, they do not fail to deliver hits to their fanbase. Moving from West to east, we finally land upon the Alps, a indomitable fortress of nature fought over between the Italians and the Austro-Hungarians, who make their appearance again in this series.

There's multiple classes, a unique feature from the other games - the companies of yore are now cosmetic, and have been replaced by a "Team Fortress" class system.
You have your officers, limited to two, which do the same thing as previous games.
Your riflemen, basic infantrymen in unlimited number with specialty in capturing.
Your assault, armed with knives and pistols, and at higher ranks, automatic guns, specializing in breaking in to enemy points.
Your engineers, with a whole new unique building system, tasked with destroying or building emplacements throughout the battlefield.
Your mountaineers, a scout class, able to spot enemies and be a secondary marksman.
And finally, your marksmen - rifle specialists with access to scoped rifles.

Instead of using points to unlock higher class weapons and ranking up to gain better abilities like the previous games, this time around the more you level up in a class and overall, and the more class objectives you complete, you gain access to more perks, secondaries, and main weapons.
It's an okay system, the grind is pretty bad at times if its a really specific objective, such as a marksman one that requires you to snipe from an uncontested zone (the blue zone), which is really hard if you're on a mountain and downhill from where the point is.
Generally, I like this system however, even if it is a bit annoying.

Generally, the community is great, a funny mixture between anti-italian racism, extreme homosexuality, and general disdain for others and always serves as a great way to laugh while slaughtering innocent men from central Europe. Highly recommend you get this game if you've enjoyed the others, or are looking for a smaller-scale BF1-esque shooter.

Devs hate the playerbase, hate the game, hired a dude who made mobile games for the CEO and sold out to Tencent (which is the only reason why the PLA was released). Devs suck, was a good game but they just had to ruin it. This is why we cant have nice things.

Anton Rayne, Vlasgandian Socialist, Reformer, Rights advocate.
A father, a diplomat, a president for the people.
Despite his idealist goals, he flew too close to the sun, too close to Soll, and exposing the Old Guard exposed his own disasterous economic plans. A charismatic leader, with millions supporting him - at the end of the day, supporters don't count for Sordish cash. Retiring to his Villa, becoming a fine winemaker, supporting his wife from the sidelines.. always carrying the burden of defeat upon his shoulders. Though he isolated Rumburg, supported Merkopian democracy, he never succeeded with Sordland - which he took with him to his grave.

God, this is an amazing game. It's like a story game with political ramifications. Buy it. Give it your MONEY.

Very fun game, very excellently designed and made with amazing art skills on the Armchair Historian team. Been waiting for this ever since it was announced and it did not dissapoint - Fire & Maneuver is the major points of this: Not only does your positioning, Battle stance, and equipment matter, but also what to fire, where to fire, and from where to fire.

The only downside is the campaign mode is a bit of a buggy mess - loading screens take forever to go through and you have to quit the game to get past them. Other than that, an amazing game that I'm excited to see more of.

I love Mount and Blade, it's amazing, but this game is just absolutely a horrible buggy mess that, even in early access, does not warrant the price tag it is given.

The major improvements is a better UI, more options and interactions, better graphics and a larger map, and way more weapons, armor, and play styles. Also, bandits don't steal all your ♥♥♥♥ when you're captured.

The downsides?
Where to start.

Modding is a buggy mess with little support despite making the game way more FUN and FAIR. Vanilla tournaments are extremely biased as you go in with the armor you were wearing beforehand - meaning rich millionare lords wear super heavy armor and are nigh impossible to kill in a tournament where to be fair, you need to level the playing field.

Bugs are a ensured problem, modding or not. Most of the hours I have in the game is me in the launcher trying to fix the bugs the game as so I can even launch it and get past the calibration menu. And this is with the bare-minimum of mods for quality of life.

The skill learning menu is completely reworked from previous games and is extremely confusing to work with - splitting everything up from the menu in the past where it clearly told you what skill you could give points in to and what stats you could increase. Now? You can just prioritize what to learn and increase stats. Completely confusing and makes it a lot more grindy.

The first quest is a big back-and-forth where you have to talk to 10 country leaders about an item while they're all at war - resulting in many of them becoming prisoners and soft-locking you from asking them until they're released and then you'll have to travel back to whereever they were released at.

In any case, it's a fun game, with lots of potential, but right now it is not worth the price tag with it being early access and the lack of retention or quality of life it gives. I've spent more time bugfixing this damn game than I have actually on the campaign map.

TL;DR wait for sale; prepare to deal with lots of bugs.

Abandonware. Was fun at first but the developers just left with the cash. So much potential in it, even major youtubers loved it. Alas, the devs didn't care.
