Absolutely fantastic story. This game had some really unique mechanisms to it. I mean, what game talks to you through windows message dialogues and actually calls you by the name on your Windows user account? This one.

And remember,

You have one shot.

Do not buy this game.

In-game reasons why you should not buy this game.

  • The singleplayer while good has yet to recieve any new content since this game's original release on 360 and PS3.
  • The multiplayer is a grindfest unless you buy shark cards. For some of the stuff it gets as bad as mobile free to play games.
  • The multiplayer features loading screens that can take 5-10 minutes or more. This has been a problem since the title launched.
  • The multiplayer while recieving content updates regularly, has the content priced in such a way that feeds back into the grindfest. There is simply no way to make the cash in a reasonable timeframe without shark cards.
  • The multiplayer lobby system is crap. People have reported joining a lobby as a group and then when the game ends after waiting for 15 minutes in a loading screen they get dropped into seperate instances.

Out-of-game reasons why you should not buy this game.

  • Take Two (the parent company of Rockstar) has nuked singleplayer modding on this title and on GTAIV.
  • Take Two's CEO believes that even with all of the money they make from shark cards and from the repeat sales of this title they are "convinced that we are probably, from an industry view, undermonetising on a per-user basis"
  • Speaking of game sales there was also the first time GTAV went on Summer sale and they decided to remove the base version of the game and instead offer "discounted" versions of the game that came with shark cards with the lowest tier coming to the full price of the base game.
