I was about to take a busniess trip out to LA with the new company I'm with, but it got cancelled. I'm working for a start-up child company of SDL now - SDL Gov't... we're looking to tie automated translation to Big Data - fun stuff :-) Scala, Cassandra, Slick, Akka, and other technologies... mostly stuff a co-worker of mine and I are trying to push for. Since we're both sort-of Senior level developers though, it's pretty certain that we'll be heading in that direction. Fun fun fun! What are you up to in LA? Last I heard you were working for a gaming company, right? Check out Scala and Akka - they're both awesome technologies... probably not great for games - but still really cool just the same.
