The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of the survivors attitudes, to realise that they're not just eccentric- they say something deep about HOFFMAN. As a consequence people who dislike Hoffman truly ARE ridden- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the eloquency in Hoffman's existential catchphrase "I'm waiting for someone to jump in to find out," which itself is a cryptic reference to a serial killer's base motives. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those Holly fanboys scratching their worm ridden heads in confusion as they go on complaining that their starting equipment is just a bat. What fools.. how I pity them.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Hoffman. The glasses are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the appearance will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Hoffman's eccentric outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from his criminal past, for instance.

I am sorry but this anime is not for the casual anime fans like you, it is only for veterans, I suggest you stop watcing the 8th season of this anime, or you will make things much worse for yourself too, as a matter of fact you are not even supposed to touch this anime before having watched up atleast 100 anime alltogether, it's better if you avoid watching this one as it often even results in newcomers suffering actually physical head pain due to pressure of trying to figure out what is going on.
