So.... I'm a gacha gamer.

Dunno how it happened, but I think it started way back when Final Fantasy Record Keeper came out. Life has had it's ups and downs, but at some point, I found a good way of financial freedom and began to make more money than most. What can I say? God is good.

Anyways.... I've played plenty of games and for some to frown upon - I've spent a lot of money. From brave exvius, to Langrisser gacha, to Dislyte and even FF7EC/First Soldier and Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero. So with that said - let me be clear: I completely agree microtransactions for games instead of a fully packaged game and using skill and effort to farm for gear, levels, excelling and etc. is not the way. However, I've played games since my childhood and I grew up on things like FFTactics, Tactics Ogre, Langrisser and such. This game is TRULY a call back to those kinds of games and it's free to pick up and play if you put the gacha aspects aside. And given my financial situation, I've moreso focused on participating on any game i'm interested in and if it makes me happy, I don't mind spending money on it. That may not be for everyone else and that's okay, I completely understand - but luckily, you don't have to spend anything to play this.

So I say that to say this - If you love jrpg tactics games... Pick this up. There is the gacha aspect to the game, but there is also the whole plot and storyline that's completely separate and you don't have to spend a dime to play it and get a taste of the actual plot. (Unless you run into bad ends a lot... Then you need to wait to get more keys to start over, but I doubt that'll be an issue with how many they give you.) If you WANT to enjoy this game, you CAN. Now witht hat aside, if you want to CONTINUE to play the game beyond the plot, do extra stuff that comes with gacha games like pvp, guild wars (down the line.), pvcom seige, more in depth gear, unit and etc. building, you can then turn to the gacha aspects which is completely separate.

Does it give more depth in some characters' back stories with why they're in the story and aspects of how they feel now that they know what's become of them in the main story being over?

Yes it does.

Is it necessary for you to grasp the whole plot in general?

That's up for you to decide, but you don't have to spend money to figure it out. And while we're on the subject - most of the content can be cleared in the gacha aspect with the common, rare and epic characters. You do not need to have a ton of legendaries to clear content and some is advised to have the former than the latter with certain strategies to clear due to their skill kits.

The music is by Hitoshi Sakimoto who did the music of Final Fantasy Tactics and the strategy gameplay is very engaging and fun.

Ever since I picked this game up, I put more time into it than Star Rail and Zenless combined.

So yeah.

Check it out.

Even if you dont like it, you don't have to spend a dime to find that out. So it's worth a look.

Edit: I play this on my phone and every now and again on my pc. So the time spent on steam is not my "true" time spent in this game. Just a heads up.

Very Beautiful game and very easy game. (And I mean extremely easy.) Main reason is because of Apiino and his mechanics. Without him, the game sees a bigger spike in difficulty, but by then - the game is almost over. Still not hard even then.

It's a great ride though and I still recommend playing it in hopes that it'll give the creators more funding to make a bigger and longer sequel or DLC to add more things.
