Deep Rock Galactic is truly a labor of love- everything from the caves being a mix of hand-crafted and randomly-generated to the dwarves' and their unrefined yet charming personalities (that and the fact that they all have the same voice lines just pitched up or down). The gameplay is solid and never really feels like it goes stale, plus the devs put untold effort into fixing issues and consistently adding new stuff into the game while never hiding anything game-changing behind a paywall or lootbox. The atmosphere is absolutely on point: I'll never forget the first time I threw a flare into a cave to find the walls and floors covered in bugs which were all heading right for me. Do yourself a favor and give this game the Steam 2-hour try, I can almost guarantee you'll lose track of time. Rock and Stone!

This game is an absolute blast. the combat is probably the best combat you'll ever see out of a 2D dogfighting game(If by 'dogfighting,' you mean mowing through hordes of smaller planes, with the exception of the aces and the all-mighty blimp).

Out of combat, this game is a bit of a mess. the way you edit controls, in particular, is really confusing. I ended up accidentally binding "select" to three different buttons on my controller, making it so going to the options menu simultaneously scrolled up to the bottom of the menu(the exit game button) and clicked. I've had to delete and reinstall the game to try and remedy the issue.(which didn't work.) Seriously though. How hard is it to have a conventional controls menu?

Overall, the combat is a 10/10, but everything else could use some reformatting.
