I decided to play through the virtuous mission twice, both on hard, and progressed to 'The Ocelot' unit before writing this.

It's the same game as was created for the PS3, for good and for bad.
The game is locked to 60 fps 720p, and has the same menus, meaning no ability to change audio, resolution, etc. I did notice a handful of audio bugs, and from speaking to friends they also had similar issues. If you have already played through the game before, and are looking for new content, don't bother as everything is the same, however if you are new to the series and wanted to play metal gear, you can't really go wrong with the purchase.

The only changed content is extremely minor, with a handful of historical footage shots in cutscenes being replaced with visually and thematically similar content due to expiration of licenses. The 720p 60fps is a shame, but I still believe the steam port is the best way to enjoy the game, and with modding options, I'm sure that it will be solved by community members soon.

I've played the ASCII version of Dwarf Fortress for about 3 years, and have been waiting for the steam port + workshop content for a long time. While it's controls are pretty different from the original, due to mouse support, I find the game to be just as, if not more fun with some great visuals and a stellar soundtrack missing in the original. While I wish they would add ASCII support and the ability to use all the old hotkeys, it's not that much of a problem and I'm sure modders or the devs will implement it eventually. Overall if you are new to dwarf fortress and interested in playing it, I would say now is the perfect time to try it.

The only negative reviews I've seen so far have been joke reviews or people who love it but are asking for ASCII. There are no sorts of performance issues, and they have included a huge in game guidebook to help new players better understand how to play.

This game is really fun, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the franchise or is curious.

The reviews are mixed, and most of that issue seems to come from people saying their game is constantly stuttering and having issues. While I haven't noticed any issues of that sort, it is possible to lower your graphics in the settings and this would likely help with the issue. The game's pop in and strange shadows make me feel as if the game is lacking some slight polish, however I believe that it's not much of an issue at all and that this kind of stuff is to be expected from such a large game.

I feel like the game, while fun and effective in keeping ones attention, may have issues in keeping players engrossed if they enjoy running off the beaten path, as many of the encounters are difficult to either encourage the player to come back later, or to nudge them in the right direction. In one situation I opened a chest that transported me into a poisonous swamp with seemingly no way out (fast travel is always an option so long as you aren't in danger, and I didn't realize this until after enduring large amounts of stress)

Many of the enemies one will encounter are difficult of foot, and a horseback approach may help to easily defeat them, that being said make sure to use all of your materials to their potential, as crafting can be extremely helpful in taking down strong foes.

Thank you, and if you agree with any of my points, or will consider purchasing the game due to my points, please leave a helpful rating.

Noita is a great game about being a wizard. The ability to craft wands and create custom spells to do almost anything you can think of is amazing. There is a huge amount of depth to the game with hidden areas and bosses, all kinds of secret endings, and there is a huge amount of replay ability, not only because each run is different, but you are able to permanently unlock new spells by doing certain hidden things. The game is $5 on sale, and I wholeheartedly recommend buying it.
