The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is an amazing story-driven game, in which you travel through Red Creek Valley, solving mysterious killings along the way. You take the role of Paul Prospero, a supernatural detective set out to find the titular Ethan Carter.

The game starts with the words: This is a narrative experience that does not hold your hand . This is very true. You are put right into the world with no real introduction whatsoever, and you just have to figure out what's going on. Not that the game does a bad job of explaining itself, and since there's very few mechanics, you will learn quickly. You immediately get feeling that something very wierd has happened, and as the plot unfolds, more questions will be asked than answered.

The graphics is absolutely gorgeous. the sound and the voice acting is also very well done. The game took me about 3½ hours to complete.

I can not recommend this game to anyone, though. You will spend most of the time just walking from a to b, and and someone who requires some action to keep them entertained, this might be a bit boring. But if you, like me, enjoy just experiencing the world, and the story, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is certainly the game for you.
