SO!
The recent spike in negative reviews comes at the hands of some members of the community being upset that a unit that was downright broken in such a manner that an entire archetype of units in the same type of it all were suffering for its mere existence.

This is a nerf that needed to happen for the health of this game.

Other people are upset that a proposed nerf for a new ID (which would have come with a full refund of anything spent to get that ID) got canceled due to the community backlash.

That's what got me to finally speak my mind on this game.

It's a surprisingly well-balanced game, and while it IS a gacha game, it's by far the most generous one that I have ever seen.

The game is really well balanced, and while it is tough to learn, it's remarkably intuitive once you get that basic level of understanding, and there ARE a number of people in the community happy to help in that endeavor.

This is a good game, a beacon of hope for any gacha game.
This is a story made by a storyteller, first and foremost.

Also, nerfs need to happen whenever something unforeseen popped up. That's just a fact of game design, no amount of beta testing will cover everything that your playerbase will do.

TL;DR, this is a pretty solid game, and a good enough place to jump into the world of Project Moon from, without losing the tricks that the stories previous in the series will play out.

Early Access Review
So, I wrote this out and realized it's LONG. So, I'll give you guys a quick tl;dr up here so you don't have to read this whole thing if you don't want to.

The short summary

tl;dr: Game's FUN AS HELL, but you need to be able to take the highs with the lows. Definitely an experience I'd recommend, probably a 9/10, but I don't think it's for everybody. Playing Lobotomy Corp to completion (emphasis on that to completion) first isn't a requirement, but it does definitely enrich the story a lot. But, playing both side-by-side as I have been, I've had questions posed by both games and answered by the other on multiple occasions.

The LONG summary

Really fun deck building game! Starts off easy, but gets difficult quickly. Deck building in this game is about far more than just "how does this card interact with this deck's general idea?", and even more than "How does this deck interact with the rest of the decks on this floor", since you need to consider how the decks actually interact with the floors themselves.
The reason for this is Abnormality Cards.
Split into two types, Awakening (small positive bonus, no downsides) and Breakdown (Potential large bonus, but also a bit of a threat if poorly handled), they can change how a card's utility works MASSIVELY. And, the Abnormality Cards are tied to the floor, hence, your decks on that floor need to consider the Abnormality Cards therein.
For example, a card with a lot of small blunt rolls might not have a lot of use on a floor where there are bonuses for pierce dice or defensive dice, but on a floor that synergizes well with blunt attacks, allowing you to deal VERY powerful debuffs on impact with a Blunt card? It's VITAL!

If you wanna get into this game, you NEED to learn to use debuffs and buffs. Since the game is remarkably free of powercreep until you hit the late game, and even then it's fairly gradual, a card from an earlier chapter in the game isn't entirely useless. However, when you have a debuff like Paralysis, which when stacked n times, will weaken n dice rolls on a character's rolls by 3, that makes a LOT of a difference, sometimes marking a victory from a defeat.

And trust me, you WILL see that defeat screen a LOT. But, any books you got during the reception by killing people, you keep, and you can get some of the cards used by those characters if you wanted.
But, much like Lobotomy Corp, it's not about acing it on the first try, it's about being able to see your enemies, learn their strengths, their weaknesses, and surpassing them. An enemy's deck, when they are playing one specific archetype of a deck, tends to lack at least one critical function of it in some capacity. Sometimes they lack card draw, meaning that if you survive for long enough, they do the hard work of making an opening for you.

Library of Ruina is a fun game, and it WILL kick your ass, but it's never out of your control. Like Lobotomy Corp before it, when something goes wrong, it's (usually) because of you (sometimes the enemy will just roll maximum and you roll minimum. That's how the dice fall sometimes). And, that sort of self-reflection and observation is REALLY fun.

So yeah, fun game, would recommend for anyone looking for a world to be entranced by, a healthy dose of heavy logical thinking, and a good brain for cards.

It's a great game, even a decade after its release. Great story and puzzles, if you want to use that thing between your eyes.

Alrighty then, this is going to be a long one. This game is often likened to Minecraft but in 2d, but apart from the block-based system, they're nothing alike. Minecraft is all about the building, whereas Terraria is about fighting, gearing up, and the challenge. Oftentimes when I play this game, I get so caught up in it all that it almost feels as if I'm in the game, fighting against the bosses and struggling to live, and building up my base to attract new NPC's into it.

It's a little early for a Journey's End review, so I won't try to cover that new update, because it's coming soon! However, as the last major update for Terraria, I face it with both a joy for the new things coming into the game, and sorrow for the end of the game's updates. Nevertheless, I'd recommend this game to just about anyone who enjoys fighting bosses or doing challenging tasks, but still has a decent temper, so they won't get mad when they inevitably die. Terraria's a cruel yet fair mistress.

Absolutely Awesome. Everything that normal Don't Starve and Reign of Giants had is present, among with a whole chester-load of new content.
the caves are now one level!
there are new bosses!
and finaly, give your character that personal touch with a skin or two!
Even have your fun with an event or two, keeping the gameplay from getting stale in the icebox!

UPDATE!
Now, this game is very fun, but Klei knows it is way better with friends, so they made it a twin pack of Don't Starve Together for a reason. Also this game is built to have mods in it, with dedicated support and a built-in mod-spotlight for allthe most popular mods.
