Dispatch is phenomenal in every sense. The love put into both the story and design is inspiring. As imperfect as they all are, the cast of heroes have been such a blast to spend time with the last few weeks. The episodic releases brought me back to the childhood excitement of waiting for new episode of my favorite superhero shows. I loved looking forward to how the story would unfold and conclude.

The art book and comics from the DLC are a charming peek into the characters and development process. Well worth the deluxe cost if you are interested in reading comics and getting a behind the scenes look at the game and concept art. (I am crossing my fingers for a printing of both the art book and comics in the future.)

10/10. This game is unsettling. I've been playing it with pals late at night, and I have never screamed this much and laughed so hard. It has interesting puzzles, creepy enemies, and good world building.

There are some slight issues with entity clipping. I got yoinked out of the annex green house through the glass walls on one occasion. HOWEVER, it was extremely funny in terms of its timing and made for a great clip!

For a solo developer, this is fantastic! Keep it up :)

The base game is okay at best.
There's no innovation in the play experience, and the UI design is not noteworthy. It's a simple game with simple functional features. I do wish there was a separation between noting potential numbers and filling in the one selected as the answer. I don't like clicking around more than necessary to get my answers to register.

More than $86 to have all current DLC puzzles is outrageous.
I did all 30 base Easy 4x4 puzzles in about 15 minutes, so paying $3 for another 15 minutes of entertainment is out of the question. Only the "Easy 1" groups for all difficulty sets (4x4, 6x6, and 9x9) are available in the base game, so higher challenge levels require paid DLC, which seem to unlock 30 puzzles each.

Not all of the DLC has been released, but what is available and announced for the future will total to about $146 at full price—$43 if you're someone to wait for sale prices, which is still absurd. The full-game experience feels like a complete money grab. I'd rather get a $3 Sudoku book at my local gas station as I'd get far more puzzles for my money.

I absolutely adore this game and its lore! I originally bought it on itch.io a little while back, but the different improvements and major additions to the game for the Steam release have made the experience so much better.

There is one critique I have, though. I think adding back the descriptions for characters that often wear hats (and the ability to ask roommates about them in the phone call interrogation) would be good for ensuring that folks new to the game don't accidentally call the D.D.D. on their hat-wearing neighbors. Nacha has a little sticky note on her file about her eye colors, so I think that would be the best way to add this info to the hat-wearers.

To me, it's well worth the re-purchase since it's so affordably priced. I can't wait to get all the in-game achievements again :)

The story of REPLAY BOYS is incredibly well done! The Groundhog Day-esque start did confuse me a bit (I thought it was a glitch at first), but I loved every second of playing once I understood what was happening via "time loop" shenanigans. The flow of each chapter worked well to progress the plot, and I enjoyed getting to know each character as I completed all route options.

This doesn't even begin to cover how the fantastic artwork complements the writing. I love the style of the CGs and dialogue sprites so much. The 3D backgrounds were a tad lacking by comparison, if I'm honest. However, I got used to them over my time playing; most weren't that distracting. I know for a small development team, drawing out the backgrounds is considerably more work, but having backgrounds that mesh well with the style of the character and CG art would make for a more seamless visual experience.

Definitely worth playing, and I'll likely replay it in the future. I look forward to Split Narrative Inc.'s future projects :)

I've been a longtime fan of the Love Live! franchise, and I found this deck-builder to be quite fun! Another reviewer related it to Slay the Spire, and I agree that it is mechanically very similar. Quite cute in terms UI design, environments, and enemies, too. The story is pretty good, though I do find that some dialogue lines cause me to cringe a little bit.

I will say that the card game itself can be a challenge; I had my butt handed to me when I played the demo for the first time, and I've had good and bad runs playing through the full game. RNG does play a hand in the outcome, but there are some enemies in later stages that can be difficult to face for the first time. It's a learning experience, but I found it enjoyable.

The only real downside is the pricing of the DLC (Yohane Outfits and Additional Character Packs). In general, I don't think the cost in relation to additional content is scaled well. If you disregard the DLCs, the base game is great! I think the amount of initial content that comes in it is worth the $30 USD price tag. It's a complete, polished game.

Each DLC is fairly expensive in comparison to what it offers ($9 to $20 USD). Based on the included content of playable characters, new cards and charms, and additional story lines based on which character you play as, I can understand why the Additional Character Packs are $20. On the other hand, outfits that are listed in their Steam descriptions as purely cosmetic items are pretty steep at $9 each. As of the time of review, to buy all available DLC costs roughly $212, which is 7x the cost of the original game. The on-sale prices are more reasonable, but it is still higher than I want to pay for an on-sale DLC.

In short, I recommend the base game. I personally suggest that if you really want to buy DLCs, only buy them when they are on sale as the price better reflects the overall addition they make to the game. They're not necessary to have a fun time, though.

A very fun way to pass the time! I liked the plot, and I enjoyed both the art style and animated cut scenes. The additional comics were a nice touch (though I'm now emotional).

I know I'm not alone in saying that this is a game I would have paid some money to play—maybe $5 for the quick play time and polished quality. This is an impressive student project, and the developers are sure to do great things :)
