A good simulation of the board game, even though it can be a bit buggy at times.

HOWEVER, most people who will buy this, will buy it for its online function. I'm sad to inform you that it is currently unacceptable. Servers are going down all the time, with people timing out because of it.

I cannot recommend it at all, mostly because of the way it plays. If you would like to play the board game online, go on Tabletop Simulator or something. Otherwise, just buy the physical version.

An amazing multiplayer experience, that has stood the test of time, and has been maintained for over 15 years.

Dota is, quite possibly, the best multiplayer game there is, and a game that you should never play. But, if you do, be prepared to sink limitless hours trying to understand its complex mechanisms, create reflexes on what you should do and how you should act, but also, creatively manipulate the game's mechanics in your favour.

It has also influenced quite some games as, apart from the obvious LoL, Supergiant games (Hades' Developers) have admitted to have been inspired by its countless different skills while trying to come up with different abilities. Its 124 heroes (at the time of writing this review), possess a great variety of (mostly) unique skills, that cover, essentially, all the different types of damages, areas of effect and status effects that can exist in a multiplayer, real time RPG. As a matter of fact, I urge you to think of unique abilities that can make sense in an RPG and post them in the comments; Dota 2 has them all (within reason) covered, or would have them, if you mix parts of 2 skills together. And it all manages to balance out in a unique game, like nothing else.

Its big disadvantage is its being a time sink. Not only due to the sheer amount of games you need to play to be half-decent in the game, but also due to its time requirement for a single game, with games going usually upwards of 40 minutes in low-ranked play.

Another big con is its community - people usually don't understand that people don't know fundamental concepts of the game, and even when you get to know the game, many people can be toxic in game. Should you manage to get a big group of people, so that you can all play together, the game shines at its best.

Never play this game, but if you do, keep your mind and your heart open to the best multiplayer experience there is, at least gameplay wise.

This game is amazing in almost every regard. Really fun gameplay, stunning visuals, great story and an amazing soundtrack. If you are in the mood for a unique platforming game which will cause you existential dread then you should pick up this diamond in the rough.

So guys, here is the deal. Artifact is the best designed card game you can get on PC. Some randomization, just enough so that it still feels equal, but complex enough so that this game can only be easily played on digital form. The 3 lane system is just amazing, so that you can outsmart your opponent, or use your cunning to steal the games out of them. Best part, it always feel fair, unlike other card games. Also, you can play free draft mode FOREVER.

About the monetization: It's not as bad as people claim it is. You can make a competitive, high tier deck for as low as 2-3 $ (Less than the cost of 2 packs in other digital card games, and saves A LOT of time. In a certain card game, it may take me 1 month or more to make a new deck). If you value your time, this is the best system there is. If you exclude some overprized cards (Axe/Drow Ranger, Horn of the Alpha (which I feel that will lower in price soon)), I think you shouldn't need more than 100$ to have a full collection, and even less if you only buy the cards you need.

This game however, currently misses 2-3 things:
Social aspect is horrible in game. Yes there are tournaments, but there is no way to gather people in-game to play them. Solution: Make your own communities out of game, which is a great band-aid fix but we need an official easier solution.

The lack of in-game chat or even emotes can make this experience feel a bit lonely. An in-game chat and emotes have been teased in a trailer, but as of this review's writing (30/11/2018) is still-not in game.

There's no kind of progression currently. Honestly, the game is so good I don't mind, but some people actually do. Progression is promised later, most likely in the form of unlockable cosmetics.

All in all, I'd say give the game the chance it deserves. It is really the best digital card game offered in the market, and with the best monetization model, as long as you value your time as you do your money. The negative reviewers, are people spoiled from other card games' free to play experience (but actually p2w). Give Artifact some time. It is worth it.

It's a great game. Really. Great mechanics. It is kinda dead. I'd love to see it being revived from its death but... we'kk see

This game is an AWESOME sidescrolling rogue-like which I belive challanges even the likes of Binding of Issac.
But do not EVER play it when raptr is running. When you go to a later stage with raptr on there is a high chance of the game freezing-crashing and completly ruining the sound.
