Larian proves yet again they are the kings of CRPG's. The game is astounding on many levels, and truly encapsulates the D&D experience It is very obvious that the writers at Larian love dungeons and dragons and all the little call backs, and homages really make veteran players feel at home.

That isn't to say this game is without flaws. A myriad of bug's have plagued our playthrough's, one breaking to the point we lost 40 hours of game time. But somehow the game and it's world were enticing enough that we dove right back in. Larian's responsiveness and willingness to listen to the community also has a lot of impact on giving them leeway in this regard as well.

Overall, if you love CRPG's and love D&D you will fall as deeply for this game as I have.

Early Access Review
Honestly hugely disappointed.

For an open world game there is little to no reward for actually exploring unless you do it in the set pattern the developers laid out for you. You'll find going into the random caves and points of interest your progress will be blocked unless you followed a strict exploration path. 90% of the caves are incredibly pointless as well, there are probably 3 in the entire game that have any merit or worth to them.

The Audio is bad, with bad normalization. Audio will play in random directions sometimes instead of being centered on what's causing it.

Base building is a joke and also pointless, as are most of the mechanics in this game. Hunger and thirst are so easy to manage they may as well not exist. Crafting most items is pointless. Why make a molotov when you can just poke an enemy to death with your starting axe? It'll take about the same amount of time and you won't have to sit through an annoying lighting animation each time you want to use one.

Speaking of enemies it seems they have no complexity to them, other than "kill them and move on." There's little in the way of difficulty when you can just replenish your armor off most enemies you kill, and attacks are so telegraphed you can back step out of almost all of them.

I honestly only will be finishing this game so it can be a sad memory in my past, and no longer haunt my present.

The gameplay is great. Honestly it actually is. I thought the building during combat would be a lame gimmick but it flows very well into it. Performance issues do plague this game, but surprisingly switching to surround sound has doubled my FPS.

The penultimate monster hunter game. You truly feel you are part of a living world in this entry to the series, and the game will constantly find ways to surprise or amaze you as it goes deeper in to the story. The graphics are to this day still to die for, and the flow of combat and responsiveness is still to be beat by any other monster hunter game.

How does the idea of playing a space faring Mega Church that worships the religion of fried potatoes sound to you? Do you enjoy the idea of subjugating other species to induct them into Potatoism? Do you like to flex your intergalactic might be blowing up a planet or two to get them to see the light? Do you like 4X? If so this game is for you.

This game is honestly a love letter to the Warhammer Fantasy franchise. It encapsulates what makes the setting interesting and fun, and boils it down into a medium that lets you not only feel like you're a part of it but allows you to make up your own narratives within it!

If you're a fan of the Warhammer setting and a fan of strategy games in general this is honestly one of the best purchases you could make.

There are still a lot of bugs to work out for this game. The gameplay itself is really fun (aside from the unfortunate spawn camping that happens because the maps themselves are not well designed).

The constant crashing, lack of reconnect option, and gated progression so far are downers.

On the other hand, they at least nerfed Barbatos.

This game will be great if they fix all these things.

If you're a fan of having your heart wrenched from your chest and then stomped on, only to be tenderly put back together with a little help from your friends, then this game is right up your alley.

Very few games will give you the insane highs and insane lows that dota does. You'll feel the deepest pits of despair as you lose an 80 minute game, and the highest of exaltations as you win against mega creeps. 11/10 great game.
