4 hours into playing this and I must say I'm impressed, it's a bit addicting, once you start you keep going, and you'll definitely notice your party getting progressively stronger.

I've made sure to explore the well detailed environments, and have earned strong rewards for it. Be sure to take any chance you have to battle because with each encounter you get stronger and you as a player understand what you're up against more. Be sure to use all mechanics given to you because it definitely enhances the combat options. (don't forget to craft!)

The story is a little confusing at first, they thrust you straight into it and start slapping with you new characters back to back but it the prologue has an epic climax and then you start to play the real game and begin understanding the world and lore around you, it's quite refreshing and not complex at all, plus the dialogue can be quite quirky and comedic at times.

Music is stellar and it always sets the mood for where you are and what's to come.

Overall it's quite a nostalgic vibe to a refreshing JRPG made by what seems like an indie dev team, great work guys!

I played the first Insurgency stand alone game, not the mod, I sunk hours into that because at the time it was the best hardcore FPS experience, and they massively improved upon it with Insurgency: Sandstorm. In a gaming industry where most FPS games are commodified through microtransactions, this game seems to put its skin market as a secondary focus, although they can be pricey anyways, also many skins can be acquired through credits gained from playing the game. Another good note, the devs continue to support the game, fix bugs, make balances where needed, and improve the game as well as releasing loads of content in free updates instead of paid expansions, I also appreciate that they aren't trying to force players into regulars new releases like COD or BF does, as in, they continue to focus on improving this game instead of shifting to the new release of insurgency. With all this it seems Void Interactive is the game company we've wanted as gamers, one thats honest, and doesnt try to massively profit off its community and actually tries to support their community. The only problem I see is long queue times, its not a popular game so sometimes depending on the time of day you might have to wait a few minutes. Another negative is lack of Ranked mode, they had a competitive queue with ranks and such but it got removed due to lack of players queueing in ranked matches.

I dont typically enjoy survival/base-building games but this game really fills a niche of easy to understand gameplay that gradually gets complex in a way that you're never overwhelmed, the building is very simple and enjoyable and some of the most open ended building I've seen.

All in all: much wow. such amaze.

Watch your friends argue about the wrong person being impostor and just laugh your ass off, or go to public and watch ppl vote on ppl randomly for no reason, it's great.

2026: after not playing for 2 years I come back and I don't really like the game like before, they basically are trying to compete with and copy valorant, but CS2 can't even hold a candle to 30% of valorants playerbase. I also don't like valorant, it's a more brain dead game and CS2 decided to turn their chess matches into checkers so they could pull valo players and it just doesn't work for me, nor does it pull their player base at all so the way I see it, they made pointless changes like taking 2 rounds to win off to match valorant, as if saving what? like 4 minutes would make a difference to total match time. Plus I notice im getting killed by moving headshot way more often, I don't know if it's just valo players used to that method and it working out more in CS or if they even dumbed down spray patterns and ♥♥♥♥. I dont play that bad but i feel like rocky balboa trying to box someone half my age, the vibes arent the same and you just dont get ppl that want to listen and win anymore, everyone wants to win their way or oops everyone has to get dragged down into a loss with them. Im gonna be real im not putting the effort in to get back into this game and be competitive enough to enjoy the grind of ranked, but ill slug it out with friends whenever I can.

Old CSGO Review: This review is about 5 years too late, i played about 3k hours, it was an incredible experience tbh, trying to get passed LEM into SMFC and GE was nearly impossible due to spin botters back in the day, I dunno what the climate for comp is these days, however I wanted to say the game overall was a great experience for me, I played CEVO up to Main league, never made it to significant tournaments but it was a great experience competing against people trying to be full time CSGO players, FaceIt was also amazing, although I didn't spend enough time on it, and ESEA was my crowning achievement considering I grinded hard enough to play in matches with actual pro players at the time, which was a fantastic learning experience, I never intended to become a pro player myself, but it was the ONE game I played for the time being, many great memories, and lots of friends made while grinding rank in comp and RWS in ESEA, I can never be as good these days as I was back then but I felt like a top tier Main Awper at one point. I have yet to find another experience even relative to this and I feel like the golden years of CSGO are over, and even if a new CS was released, I simply am too old and wouldnt have enough time to get good at it, I really do appreciate all the modders out there that developed resources to improve mechanics and game sense as well as smoke and flash pushes, and I will never forget the moments where I competed against pro players to achieve top lobby in FFA HS only servers on various maps, N0thing was a frequent FFA HS only server enjoyer and I ran into him tons and he def taught me plenty, it would be insane when he popped into the community servers and everyone would go dead silent to give him the space to mentor everyone, great experience overall.

Old: I love this game but it's really annoying to play Competative because of all the Hackers and Smurfs, Valve needs to fix this ASAP
