I appreciate the reinforcements mechanic and the fact you can steer a plane after you called for one (unlike the 1st game) but graphically, music and vibe wise I love the first one so much more.

Decently executed mobile port. Nothing special, okay for what it is. Won't be putting a lot of time into it on PC but since it's free and you can just load your cloud data from the phone I think it's worth recommending.

Apologies in advance: if you're new to the franchise this review might not be too helpful out of the gate.

Pro: naval battles aren't a 1 by 1 versus 5

Cons: no teletubbies burning on the stake in plagued towns, no townspeople making speech bubbles when you click on them, generic story in which I can't just marry any governors daughter and then not visit her again until she elopes/gets kidnapped, the helper dude looks like he was ripped out of a total war game but they didn't grab all the textures, the flags are boring and burn my eyes (green and yellow variants are way too vibrant for my liking), I don't like that you can just start the game with a bunch of ships and money (in PR 2 you could choose between a better starter ship and less gold or vice versa and that was it) and it lacks a lot of charm and personality in the missions and other departments (I assure you it's not just my rose colored glasses at work here).

Mind you I only put a couple hours into this so read more reviews and look up gameplay footage - maybe it ends up being a game for you. But I'm certain it's not for me. I feel like they took the diamond that is the 2nd game and turned it into zircon.

If you're new and know you'll want to get all achievements at some point, do some planning ahead for the achievements involving getting all types of spells: don't spend the boss souls you'll need for spells from Straid and if you're grinding offline, get 3rd rank of sunbros and pilgrims of the dark, as well as 2nd rank of bell keepers on lower bonfire intensities. Invade Licia for soothing sunlight, and then push for NG++ for the remaining miracles/pyromancy from Wellager.

Game's good, have fun.

Gameplay is same-y but solid. The tone of the game (music and overall look) is great (I'm looking at you, Blitzkrieg II). In-game encyclopedia and starting cutscenes for each faction are great. Sometimes crashes. Took me some effort to get it to run on Win 10. First RTS I've ever played. 7/10
