Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game in the current state the game and staff are in. The launch was rough, it was delayed for weeks and a few days after the game was finally released they allowed only 500 players onto the servers for this reason:

"Due to the team's need to prepare and prevent any possible errors during the game's launch, the team has opened registration for the Pre-Release of the game "Home Sweet Home : Online" This is to assess the performance of the server in providing service to a large number of players while awaiting feedback from relevant individuals.

Regrettably even with this system in place (which many community members didn’t like because they had no access to the game while others did) the game was released with some bugs and servers not working for hours on launch day. On top of that they are constantly throwing compensation items around; I was given around 120 usd+ worth of compensation items but frankly I and many others couldn’t care less about these compensation items instead we want a solid founded game that has a clear direction and smooth release. The developers have been preparing this game for 6+ months and the launch was a complete mess. Whether you’re a beloved fan or dislike the game the fact remains that the release was harsh.

Moving on to gameplay they added a 4v4 mode which is disastrous. Many people dislike this mode I included. It’s one of those modes where you seriously need to watch the tutorial, or you’ll be completely lost. As small as the community is, adding two modes is a poor decision. I will argue by adding this mode you lose some sense of direction to where the game is going. Why is there a new mode introduced when balancing, bugs, optimization, and many more issues need to be resolved first. Not only do they need to think about how visitors and wardens interact but now with this mode how wardens and wardens interact.

The staff team is also another huge issue at hand. They cannot follow a rule that they themselves set.

This rule is:
“Please talk politely to people in our group. When talking, please be courteous and do not use inappropriate words. Including abusing, insulting, slandering each other so that there will be no problems between them.“

In short summary, due to the frustration and letdown many community members faced on the supposed release date there were many trolls and angry people in the discord server. One of the members was being rude and called a community staff member names and the staff member replied by calling them “anorexic.” Their reasoning for calling them a name back was basically: I was respectful and nice until I lost my temper. Clearly, they cannot sense the responsibility they have and representation they have to the staff team, and they also lack a sense of accountability which is concerning to see that behavior from people that are supposed to instill kindness and peace to the community. Their mentality of reciprocating energy left many more people upset and was not dealt with in a professional matter. Keep in mind this is a collective mindset from the community staff as they were in defense of the staff member that was being rude which is at the time named: asianmess. There were a lot of passive aggressive comments as well so all that being said the community staff is also a mess and unfortunately, you’ll have to trust my words and others because they deleted all evidence of their behavior. This situation was just the icing on top.

I’m not happy to give a bad review of this game. I’ve defended this game and given it a chance for a very long time. I enjoy home sweet home survive and have been here since day 1 release of the game. But how much longer must players be patient for the developers to deliver? Please all keep in mind this is a small development team so there’s more patience and tolerance that must be given but even in this case it’s frustrating to see all the issues at hand. At the end of the day, I will probably continue to play this game because yes, even past all its flaws the base game (survive mode asymmetric) is fun and addictive. However, even though it’s enjoyable there’s a lot this game needs to work on before I can recommend someone to play it. I will not recommend a game that has a rough release, some bugs, poor optimization, poor balancing, a messy community staff and most importantly the ability to not deliver etc. I’m passionate about this game as you can see by how much I wrote lol and this game release was a second chance I was hoping for but failed. I will no longer have hope for a better game but my wishful thinking hopes that down the line I will be able to write a good review about this game and community.
