I really wanted to like this game. Like all survival games it takes time to get into it, which isn't a problem. I would've happily put a ton of hours into it, which makes it even more frustrating since the only reason I can't keep playing is the lag. My hardware should allow me to play this game on medium settings (the default settings), but I even lowered to very low without much difference (runs a bit smoother, but doesn't fix the main issue). I also moved the game from an HDD to an SSD (the one listed above) and it significantly improved load times, but didn't fix the lag.
Textures and objects would take forever to pop into the world, specifically inside buildings. I could finish exploring an entire house and only once I left it the furniture actually spawned, before that it was completely empty, with loot lying in midair. The same lag, albeit not as bad - applied to enemies too during combat. Hitting them with melee or the crossbow doesn't feel satisfying when there's a half second delay between the time my weapon or projectile hits them - and the time they actually receive the damage. Half a second may not sound like much but it's significant. (the latency is 300 ms which may very well be the reason, but I always play on Asian servers in other games without any issues, and the latency shouldn't be that bad. I don't have any other network issues either, it runs smoothly with everything else)
This makes the game frustrating to play, even more so since it's my only major issue with it.
Even though I marked the game as 'not recommended' (I can't recommend a game that didn't work for me) - maybe you should give it a try and see if it works well for you, since it is free.
