THIS IS NOT A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is not only one of the best games that I’ve ever played, but also the best Star Wars story that exists (at least IMO). We explore the early years of the Empire through Cal Kestis’ eyes, a Padawan who survived Order 66 and that’s currently hiding not only from the Empire, but also from his past and from himself. His connection to the Force has been cut because of this, and he has no intention of healing it. Through the game we see how deep Cal’s trauma truly is, and understand that he’s still a lost and hurt young boy who saw his family betray and kill his father in front of him.

After the Bracca incident, he joins the Mantis’ Crew, and starts a mission that will force him to face his fears. Aided by his newfound family, Cal becomes more powerful and wise.

His healing process feels natural and well paced, and, as Cal starts accepting what happened to him, his vision of the world, of what he thought he knew, starts to change. His compassion and kindness makes him a better Jedi than most of those who were part of the Council. He stops seeing the clones as traitors and murderers, and comprehends that they, just as the Jedi, were only pawns and victims in someone’s chessboard.

His relationships with his crew are nicely fleshed out. His fight with Cere is really well written and their reactions and motives are understandable. We can understand Cal’s feelings of hurt and betrayal, but also Cere’s fear and self-loathing.

Overall, this game deserves all the praise that it gets; a big shout out to Respawn Entertainment, the actors, and especially to Cameron Monaghan for his amazing work in bringing life to Cal Kestis.

P.S. 1: Sorry for any grammatical errors, English is not my first language.
P.S. 2: BD-1 is a delight and the best droid in the franchise.
P.S. 3: Although I said that Cal becomes wiser through the game, I still think that he's the biggest himbo in the Star Wars universe.
