Humor is sometimes well used to remove tension in difficult situations. A game like this is tricky, but the dev does a great job using humor in an attempt to deal with tragedy. Even the disclaimer at the start is well done. The little touches like jump-kick man are nice too.

After a young man's life was almost ruined from being attacked by a man that did horrendous things to kids, this was a surprising way to celebrate the acquittal.

I watched a ton of YouTube footage of the trial. This is strictly my opinion. I understand there are other opinions.

Shadow of War is published by WB games. This is the same publisher that made the Batman Arkham game series. I'm not sure if you've ever played one of those games. As for the playstyle of fighting multiple orc-like enemies at once in Shadow of War, it reminds me most of the playstyle in the Batman Arkham series.

One of the game's biggest controversies was the game's abilities to buy microtransactions. I never felt a need to spend more money on it. Now that the game is less likely to make them money, they game-balanced and toned down the microtransactions so they're not really all that helpful.

I liked the story more in the first game, Shadow of Mordor, where they introduced the character. The second game, Shadow of War, focused heavily on one of the best game mechanics in the first game where you can bring orcs to your side to fight for you. Plus, you can continue fighting in the end game with your allied friend-orcs to take more territory. I thought that was a brilliant idea, and I was SUPER excited for it. Me and my allied friend-orcs were going to save the world. I was planning how to get the friendliest and strongest friend-orcs to ally with me. Then the game broke my heart. You cannot bring friend orcs with you to fight in the boss room after the city siege that is part of the end-game scenario of taking cities.

Not a fan. I know some of the creators from L4D2 worked on this, but it's missing that feeling of timeless fun. There's a ton of variety on the common, but all the specials seem to be based on the same 3 models. And the specials aren't special. They're mostly big bullet sponges. I find the game design strange. It seems like they use tough difficulty as a gimmick to keep people playing and inside their games as a service model. However, outside their annual pass, they don't seem to be selling much stuff for their games as a service model. It's a coop game so I get that they can't just copy the success from how CoD uses the model. But whatever they're doing, they seem to be doing it wrong.

Thanks so much for not making this an Epic exclusive!!! The animation is gorgeous. As seen from the Steam trailer, it has a kinda scary vibe. I don't like scary games normally, but it is more beautifully unnerving than outright frightening. As others mentioned, it's short. I like shorter games. It took me 2.2 hours to finish the game. I'm happy the creator announced some free DLC to lengthen play time.
