Core gameplay is actually very entertaining and once you've gotten the hang of the overloaded UI it can be rewarding to play. Early rumours of bitcoin mining software and malware seemed to all have been dismissed too. However, despite being free, it is fundamentally a Pay-to-win game with a toxic community and a dwindling playerbase. This isn't to say you shouldn't play this game, just that I cannot justify a positive recommendation.
