Game of the Year shoe in

Kinda like Witcher, except you're a Witch 'er Wizard.

Sure the game is a little linear, but I signed up for a dead space-esque horror story and that's what I got.

Once the initial issues with framerate drops were resolved, the game was smooth sailing on the technical side.

Graphically, great and gross in a good way.

Story, nothing crazy amazing but good nonetheless.

Gameplay, very Dead Space (Including stomping dead bodies) and while a little monotonous (Dodge, dodge, dodge, hit, repeat) at times, still fun to play. Challenging too.

I would absolutely recommend this game*

Asterisk because there are some issues with egregious store prices for cosmetics that were traditionally already in halo games previously and merit based unlocks. It is kind of ridiculous to pay $10 for mud flaps too.

Would be a much stronger recommendation with merit-based unlocks and performance based experience.

On the bright side, devs seem to be listening (or caving if you are a pessimist) and changes are inbound.

Multiplayer:
Feels and runs smooth. Though there are still bugs and issues, the overall gameplay loop feels very enjoyable as long as you are playing to enjoy playing. The battle pass progression is still being looked at, but right now it is challenge only focused. There is no merit-based XP progression at this time.
If you like Halo, you'll probably enjoy the gameplay in this. Especially after a few fixes for melee registry and desync for example. Plus they just added the SWAT playlist.

Campaign:
I enjoyed the story quite a bit actually. There are a number of bosses throughout that I really enjoyed, mostly my gripe would be that they didn't flesh them out more. The game does kind of seem to be wrapping up the story of 4/5 in a way that is better than the route it appeared they were going originally. Overall I enjoy the relationship and the personal journey between Echo, Chief, and The Weapon throughout and came to enjoy the new characters quite a bit.


TL;DR
Master Chief is Spider-man. The Weapon took all the cake from the multiplayer Spartans.
Multiplayer feels like old Halo.
