Came out on the back of "Discovery Channel" and "Gold Rush"... and used their good names to try promote this game without permissions.

Wasn't the worst...But needed work.

New company took it over... and have run it even further into the ground... "graphics update" ruined the game for most people. and it is so F'ing jittery it literally makes me sick...Ran better when it came out... And then people will try tell you "turn graphics down" or "its your pc"... and its not... (i have i9 10900k, 3080, 64gb 3600mhz ram, installed on a ssd)

And dont bother going to try ask any real questions or post any real issues... You will be banned. Or their promo squad will just gaslight you and say no its all fine.

And now they want more money for a new game... Which they have not yet shown is anything other then exactly the same as this.... And their promo materials for gms2 even show downgrades back to things that have been added here...

Shady companies...

While being promoted as a "survival" game; it is not... It is a slowly walk while dying to the next location before dying simulator. It is also so slow that it really took ~5hours of play + afk time/time searching wikis and maps... And after all that time; I still never see it being able to be a "survival simulator"..... And it is literally cartoon like how fast ♥♥♥♥ decays... And I was on the 2nd easiest setting... day 2 and my gear was nearly destroyed... you cant stay awake for more then like 10 hours in game time before needed to sleep... so its not even like you can keep to a regular sleep schedule... it tries to be "real" at the wrong things.... and fails at it all... I hate it. Would love a refund....

And steam won't refund cause "over 2 hours"....

at the start; would have 100% said buy this.... But the Devs have F'd with it and keep changing things NO ONE IS ASKING FOR.... and people tend to dislike... They keep making it clear they have no regard for the actual players and don't give a flying F.

And they are currently and actively moving/merging and removing discussion posts they don't like in attempts to "look better" and control the narrative....

Only negative I have seen is gears stick to forward vs the way they would 100% act in real life.... but fixing the camera in both build (Zoom isnt mouse wheel.....???) and drive mode should 100% be first! (real life gears may have already been fixed?)

Game got popular and for the past few days the game was trying to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update every like 10 seconds. (Would complete only to get another)

Forced to remove for security. Seemed like Dev was trying to update small parts at a time to add something larger. possible malware.

Even looking at the achievements completed %'s; Tier 1 and before is okay... Then comes tier 2..... Have to re-do everything.... and more... Drills don't F'ing connect in the same way so have to re-do that.... Its a ♥♥♥♥ show... they clearly never had a good idea for what came after tier 1 or atleast how to implement it... Moving/Carrying/Buying ♥♥♥♥ is one of the worst experiences of any video game... Cant even carry coins in a pocket.... multiple trips....

Best mod I found which helped ALOT of my issues was the storage crate mod... (but this then removes the ability for achievements FOREVER in a save. and even creating a new save with achievements re-activated was not intuitive and I literally had to look online) this should be in the base game at this point..... With this mod game is bearable. Without; and the achievements confirm many people dont go into tier 2...

Great game! Actually taking the time to read the dialog would fix most peoples negative comments.

Dev is active and listening daily; along with working/bug fixing on the game and adding player requested stuff if it fits the game/needs.

Over 1300 hours
DO NOT BUY IF:
-you dont have a beast computer
-you're internet connection is not above average

even after that:

-dont plan to play on public servers. (singleplayer or pay for youre own server)
-expect bugs that have been around forever and will piss you off to no end and no fixes in sight
-sure, they keep adding and adding new stuff to the game, but they never fix anything
-expect to hear about or you'rself start ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you find out that anyone who bought the scorched earth PAID expansion... can bring their SE dino's to regular ark. like i paid you for this game which is unfinished and needs alot of fixes let alone new stuff added, and you took my/our money to make SE and then think its okay to charge for it? sure, i can see charging slightly more to new purchasers for ark+SE but anyone who had already purchaced ark should have been gifted it. OR AT VERY LEAST, people who decided to pay for SE should NOT be allowed to bring their SE dino's to play with people who have no way to access these dino's for themselfs.

after this, if youre STUPID enough to attempt to play a public server:

pvp:
-I will not comment, i have never played a pvp public server.

Pve:
-large tribes are gods...>< yes its against the rules... DO NOT expect the dev's/support team to do anything about it...
- most servers have been so covered in pillars by said "god" tribes that spawns are comepletely broken...even tho these tribes claim "we are protecting spawns"....
- due to pillars everywhere, it can be extremely difficult to find/build/finish even a small base. (I have been on many servers where i start a base; log out to do something IRL for a bit, come back and someone has pillared around my base, making it impossible to finish. and good luck trying to talk to these tribes. 99% of the time they just claim "protecting" something...>< and they can and do get away with it because the dev/support team takes absolutely no action.

more on submitting a ticket:

-so, you have submitted a support ticket....what now..? well youe waiting for a reply....how long...? you may think 24-48 hours, which i would have been satisfied with...nope.... i waited 11 days... after those 11days, i got a AUTOMATED response... no one had read my ticket yet... so you reply to that. then more waiting right? YES... another 3 days...>< i finally get a reply from what i believe to be a real person, and by this time i would have though someone would have read my ticket...nope... this time its an AUTOMATED response formatted to look like a person, and it defaulted to the first "problem" word in the ticket which was "pillars". so the reply when something like; we have read you ticket and our "investigation team" has started an investigation into youre claims of pillars. WEll, this ticket was not submitted in reference to pillars.... this ticket was about a player claiming to be a GM over a incident concerning pillars, and pillars was only mentioned at the beginning as i was explaining the situation.... so, by this time im getting pissed, language is becoming more foul in my replys, then i get the next reply, and this is an exact copy/paste;

Anyways.... it COULD be an Amazing game...dev's just need to get their prioritys in order, maybe fire people not helping so much and im sure there are a tonn of people who would love to join the team and help make a bigger difference. Alot of the mod's made by "random" people look and feel alot more finished then the game itself. and i get it, they have a slightly easier job, building off of arks base, but still...fire who you have and employ them..? they seem to be working harder and doing a better job.
