The core game itself is very fun. Boss rush version of Elden Ring with lots of throwbacks to older games.

At its current $25 price point, it’s a little expensive for what it is. I managed to 100% complete it without googling anything in 3.5 hours, which is a fairly short game, especially at that cost.

Still, it’s a good puzzle game. You can get through the whole game with just your analog stick and A button; most puzzles are more cognitive and less skill-and-timing based, which I really enjoyed. There’s also fairly minimal combat - something novice gamers with an interest in puzzles can likely appreciate.

All things considered, buy it, but wait for a sale.

somewhat annoying dialogue, but otherwise a great soulslike, blending mechanics from many different games in the genre. also just a fun game, independent of that.

My only complaint is that the camera isn't super easy to control, which becomes a problem when trying to charge/bash enemies. It seems to stick to certain angles and not move with your head unless you move quite a bit. Otherwise, the game is overall pretty fun!

Though the combat remains similar to Hammerwatch and Heroes of Hammerwatch, the core gameplay loop is very different. Instead of being a dungeon crawler, it's an open-world RPG now, and that means a looooot of walking in circles to go back to places you've been, or trying to find the one person you've got to talk to for this quest. This alone takes away from the gameplay dramatically.
