This game is so incredibly entertaining for how simple it is. It's tense, varied, satisfying, and easily playable in <1hr short bursts if you are in a busy household. You could probably get 60 fps on a nokia brickphone and it's cheap as balls, so it's a game that nobody has an excuse to not play. Give it a shot and even if you regret it, it was only the price of a candy bar. ;)

If you are a person who wants to break into the legitimate roguelike genre, play this game. I'm a fan of the "rogue-lite" series of games (ETG, Rogue Legacy, Spelunky, etc) and I thought I would enjoy playing the actual Rogue and some of its' variants, but they all seemed woefully dated by today's standards and somewhat hard to get into. I gave Tangledeep a try after hearing good things about it, and I was genuinely pleased! This game actually makes the genre palatable and most importantly, enjoyable! Other than some VERY minor changes (like a difficulty setting at the beginning of the save), it sticks to the "Berlin Interpretation" as well as possible. The graphics and sound are what really make this game. The music has a great depth and unique style to it, which you would expect from the lead developer also being an accomplished video game composer. The 16-bit art is also gorgeous to look at, especially for a tile-based game where it is incredibly important to make it all look organic. All that aside, the story and characters don't really have much depth to them, but playing a roguelike for the story is like having sex for the smooth jazz and candles. This is overall a fantastic first game for Impact, and I'm really looking forward to what these guys make in the future. They have tremendous potential.

This game is, and always will be, the best use of a farm animal. Mayonnaise doesn't make itself after all!

never pick deprived. i'm still on the 3rd level. this game will eat your life. 10/10
