This game is Fan(ny_pack)tastic! Tight gameplay loop with tons of unlockables. The grind is real and expect to crunch some time to unlock everything. It feels worth the effort learning the synergies and unique character classes. The map is very repetitive though and it seems to be the same exact map with random small changes to size and monsters that spawn. As you unlock more difficulties you'll also unlock more monster varieties.

It runs phenomenal on the steam deck with a tiny bit of tinkering. (Properties: -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080) and the game will run with no problems on desktop and native steam deck screen. It's amazing on the go and because of this I'll probably log a ton of time on this game.

Bippity Boppity Bojangles

It's Bo Time!

Come on down for some of that BOdacious Bojangles chicken!

I lost an entire colony in my last run... The fishing spot was a bit away from the fortress so my fisherman traveled to get there alone. All of a sudden I'm hearing battle noises and checking the notifications! The fisherman is being attacked by a hyena! As he's being torn to shreds, I get my squad organized and tell them to attack the hyena. Unfortunately, as I pressed attack my fisherman lost his arm and went missing shortly after exposing a truly dreadful development. It wasn't just a hyena.... It was 12 hyenas.

Instead of attacking this pack I told them to defend the burrow. After the fisherman, it was the stray cat, then the chicken as they're coming closer and closer to the fortress. Finally, the prized yak just outside the walls of our farm. It fought back wounding one hyena. If we're forced to fight then this is the best time. The entire squad attacks, while the yak retreats inside. The squad slaughtered the first wounded hyena and I felt an adrenaline rush as the rest of the pack shows up.

I want to say everything went perfectly and the dwarves survived. I wish they beat the pack back and feasted like kings on cooked hyena... No, they were all quickly surrounded and torn limb from limb dying in pools of their blood while various organs were ripped from their bodies. Free to continue into the fortress unopposed, every man, women, child and animal shared the squads fate.

Combat in this game is as detailed as I've just described it and just as brutal. That story comes from the log details in game. Now after creating a new band of highly skilled hunter, we ascend the mountainside in an attempt to recover the lost fortress. During this new groups recovery effort, they first discovered the fisherman's corpse. Now skeletal remains, his cloths scattered near and far around the river. The closer they get to the fortress, the more belongings are discovered.

Upon reaching the fortress walls, the hunters are greeted with the skeletons of the previous occupants. There standing above one of the skeletons is a figure of a man. Full of emotions and anger, the figure lashes out at the leader of these elite hunters frightening him intensely. The ghost of a mad peasant now haunts this fortress, causing dread and mischief while the group works to restore it.

I'm gonna miss playing this. It was a source of fun and a place of escape for a while. Fortunately, now we can all move on... TO WHIII!

KHORNE FOR THE KHORNE FLAKES

I am a 30 year old father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my son, who is now 14. My son recently started SC and in less than a week, he had already played for over 20 hours. This was terrible for me, as it was already hard enough for me to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching videos on Tiktok. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, looked at the menu, but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought my son and I closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

I hate to say it, as a fan of Back 4 Blood and an old retired vet from l4d's gb tourny days, this game is ticking all the old nostalgic feelings that I haven't felt since I waited in line at gamestop for the midnight release of l4d2. This is more fun than b4b, but at the moment needs a lot of growth to fit into its own shoes. There's lots of things coming to this game that are needed but requires player feedback and suggestions to get right. They released the game in early access to have this player input available and help shape the game to become a potential masterpiece. I'm excited to help be a part of this games growth and help foster a new community of players with amazing potential!

At first I was rolling high with the big boys sending 80 games at a time, thousands of cash and games all day long. It was great but soon my cash started running lower and lower as I kept losing and losing. At one point I had to make one final decision. I had one game left all or nothing. Now I'm broke and the only thing I have left is my gf and some kitties.
