As of the most recent patch titled "Beyond the Hive" I cannot recommend this class anymore.
This was already a difficult class to recommend, especially for new players.
It is somewhat mechanically demanding, moreso than most of the other classes and is fairly frail but for that it had some great upsides to balance it out and you had a pretty solid fantasy of trees to choose from.

The class has three trees, like all the other classes.
Ranged, Melee, and Support.

Before this update, the ranged variant could be played purely as ranged, since you could pickpocket ammo from elites/specials. This talent was nerfed, it was fairly decent so I understand them wanting to nerf it since it had a high pickrate and could help every build.

How did they nerf it? perhaps they added a range requirement, say "be within 10m or something" since scum is kind of a shoot and scoot or as they said "run and gun" playstyle? it is after all in the ranged tree right? Nope.

perhaps they added a cooldown to it? regaining 20% ammo with no cooldown is pretty good right? so maybe they added a 5 or even 10s cooldown to it since we don't want to disincetivise the usage of run and gun style weapons since that's what the scums ranged section was advertised for? Also No.

FS has decided in its infinite wisdom to add a Melee reuirement to this ability, no CD or distance nerf, slap a melee requirement on it and call it a day. This is a massive change, taking you from a run and gun style build that used to be able to manage its massive ammo wastage by cleverly taking out elites/specials to keep up your ammo reserves into a class that now randomly is required to whip out a melee weapon to meagerly fuel your dual SMG's (the iconic weapon advertised for said run and gun playstyle)

They buffed the everloving junk out of melee to the point melee scum easily competes and can outclass Zealot and Ogryn. Support scum still does its job but emperor forbid you want to play ranged, can't have that on a class that was advertised for it.

If this class interests you still, I understand fully I still like it, it's still an awesome looking and feeling variant of a class but I cannot recommend it to anyone personally. Thanks for reading if you're still here, have a great day and remember these are just my opinions. Play it for yourself if you want and make your own opinions, I'm just sharing.

It's just cosmetics, buy it if you like the look, don't buy it if you don't, simple.
They look nice to me, and are well made.

I got this game on sale for £20

The changes that are being made to Year 2 are phenomenal.
Land Combat, Large Ships, more events and bosses and more meaningful combat.

I like the game, I enjoy the game, and while it's not perfect it brings me enough happiness sailing around and looting that I really don't care. You are genuinely doing good for Year 2 Devs, please keep this up.

A unique, interesting and beautifully crafted game.
The art style is the biggest interest to me, but the gameplay and story are all well paced and driven and once you get the hang of it all it feels great to play.

This review was previously negative due to the mandatory Sony account linking. Together, as a community, we changed that so all our brothers and sisters fighting for freedom across the globe actually get to play the game they bought.

This game is special, what Arrowhead has made is truly a game for the ages. What Skyrim was and is for RPG's, this game is for Coop Shooters.
I'm sure decision will be made in the future that some players may not like in terms of Balance but what Arrowhead is creating is special.

A Coop shooter that does NOT require you to purchase 3,000 micro-transactions in order for you to feel relevant. You CAN farm every.single.currency. that's special nowadays, really special.

I can confidently say that as long as Arrowhead keeps this up this will be my GOTY.

Thank you Pilestedt and the team at AH, you lot have all made this gamer very happy (:

Suicidal bird Squad, Penguin Launchers (this kills the penguin, who cares, he'll be back later), Panda's dual-wielding rocket launchers, and flying mounts that can spam Tornado's.

Buy the game, It's £25 and the Devs give more of a ♥♥♥♥ than most. More stuff oon the Horizon too? A++, 100% worth the money spent.

It's a horde shooter in the same vein as "Left 4 Dead" or "Deeprock" except 40k.
Melee and Ranged combat blend very well, and are done to a high standard that feels addicting to come back to even after earning everything you could want on a class. (or multiple classes)
If you're a hardcore gear grinder this is NOT the game for you, this is the RIGHT game for you if you enjoy challenging melee/ranged combat with lots of hidden depth to it. (The tutorials do a piss poor job of teaching you the game, so watch YT vids or learn it the hard way)

The replayability, just like Vermintide, Left 4 Dead, and Deeprock come for the variety and randomness of each mission. Give it a go, it's not as bad as some of the reviews say and it certainly deserves a chance, it is after all one of the best 40k coop games we've probably ever gotten (obvious bias, but that's what reviews are)
