Playstation.com's FAQ for PC Games, April 25th, 2024:

BASED VALVE has granted refunds to players over the 2 hour limit for players unwilling to make a new PSN account.
Method:
Choose your refund reason as, "not on this list".

Write a 3-4 paragraph letter calmly talking about the unexpected change Sony has/is implementing and how it will lock you out of your game along with how you feel about that fact. Then thank Steam for their time and consideration.

Finally, choose to have your refund dumped into your Steam Wallet. Steam seems to be quicker and more likely to do a refund if they know you're locked into spending that refund on Steam instead of having to go through the painful process of loading it back onto your credit/debit card.

Thank you BASED VALVE for not allowing Sony to get away with the following:
- Sony bolstering their PSN numbers, and harvesting consumer information.
- Forcing players to abide by Sony's sudden presence on a game people have been playing on Steam without PSN for MONTHS.
- Locking out players from 120 countries who cannot access PSN.

Thank you BASED VALVE for not allowing Arrowhead to get away with the following:
- Being misinformed (or outright lying, at worst) about the account linking being about the player's "safety". Sony cannot protect you from hackers, who have stolen hundreds of terabytes of data about their consumers.
- Bait-and-switching by disguising this originally as a "technical issue".

And a final thank you to BASED VALVE for allowing players to vote with their wallets.
