Tametsi intoduces interesting and diverse changes to the classic minesweeper puzzle format. Some levels build on eachother's logic as the difficulty scales. The game is forgiving with taking back mistakes, but also provides the challenge of completing each level flawlessly (by restarting the level completely). Good for a few minutes of brain teasing or longer sessions if you want to lock in.
Accessibility: Colourblind support.

Only realised I was 7 hours in to this game when my friend pointed it out. Very enjoyable gameplay loop of optimising your building placements for synergies while balancing econ and military. Each commander makes the play style feel unique, and the three factions add very different mechanics for how you manage your resources and units. There are definitely no orcs here.

Balatro combines Poker and Deckbuilding in a novel way. As SHINIES are unlocked and more interesting Joker synergies appear you can't help but get sucked into the gameplay loop of optimising your deck to make SHINIES. SHINIES and stickers are good.

A beautiful mix of bullet hell/heaven and inventory management, with a fairly enjoyable gameplay loop. Unlocking the characters and classes requires you to do meet thematic unlock requirements that teach you how to the play the game in different ways. The classes interact in interesting ways with the weapons and items. The wide variety of melee, magic and ranged weapons keeps each run fresh and engaging. Would recommend for any fan of roguelikes or bullet hell; 9/10.

Having played probably hundreds of hours of this in the physical form, it's great to be able to play Hero Realms while on the go digitally. While you have to pay for the game and its expansions separately, the price isn't bad. The free version has more than enough content to introduce new players, teach them the rules and get them started on learning the more intricate strategies involved. Great deckbuilder. 10/10 IRL. 8.5/10 digitally.

A compelling addition to the deck-building rogue-like genre. Of note, you build two decks in tandem for your two chosen heroes, allowing for a depth of exploration into synergies and unusual strategies. Fans of Monster Train and Slay the Spire will enjoy the added challenge of taking your time to explore the map to maximise your chances to beat the boss.

The "Epilogue" mode adds a great amount of replay-ability: rather than just adding HP and damage to enemies, instead multiple different challenges are made available that change the way you approach money, exploration and damage.
