I'm going to start off by saying I completed the game 100% and yes, I can understand why people feel it is somewhat boring, since you're literally just running errands for people. It's lacking in making you feel rewarded by completing quests as the next one will just be "go get something else".
Yet, I enjoyed the game. Most of the items you need, you can actually get just by exploring or buying them if you enjoy the grind for money. The fast traveling feature seems super expensive at first until you realize that if you don't have any money, it will be free.
Getting money in this game is somewhat hard. Especially if you're like me and like buying stuff instead of farming for it but it makes the game fair and keeps you from just buying everything, even at the end.
I cannot tell you the absolute joy I experienced when at the end of the game I sold all of my items. :)

The story was okay, I felt it was lacking a bit. Especially towards the end.
Bring back the berry juice man though :(
The character development by the NPCs was quite nice to see in regards to the Player, although I wish there were more casual dialogue options in general.

There were very few bugs I encountered, it was three and two happened because of the mine.
One was because I fast traveled out of it and one because I used a sleeping bag in the mine causing the clock to freeze both times (the first one until I left and reentered the game; the second one only until I left the mine)
The third one was Ernettis quests not showing up for the first two or three quests, therefore making you kinda forget about it.

Overall it was bit of a mindless game, more so if you don't pay too much attention to the story. There is no challenge if you prepare for the achievements early on (catching fish, collecting oranges; I didn't and it still ended up only costing me less than an hour after turning my island into an orange farm and fast traveling through the squares to catch fish I had missed), everything else you will unlock by simply going through quests.
It was satisfying to finish and had a cute atmosphere but not something I'd replay as the story and gameplay aren't interesting enough.
