This game is just a classic to me, still the best in the series.
Yeah same aspects haven't aged well.....and the random crashes here and there.
But man, its still a great game. Its an amazing story (and the parallels to Alice in Wonderland) , plenty of side quests to keep you going and even to 100% its only around 30 hours to do so.
What I needed to get out of my gaming black hole.

One of the best games I've played in recent years.

A game where you choices actually feel like they matter. Really hope we get another one in the future!

Thought all it would ever be is an RV trip with friends instead I got:

-Become a professional mekanik
-Lack of driving skill
-Eaten by a bear
-Taken to Narnia by an eagle
-Eaten by crocs
-Hunted down by the CIA

So slightly less stressful compared to if I did it in real life.

Again another incredible game in the franchise.

Yes it has its downsides (mainly story related), there are a bunch of improvements made from Like a dragon that helps make the game play much smoother.

I mean how can i not love the adorable goofball in Ichiban (I mean how many times does he get called a virgin in the story, its hard not to feel sorry for him) or Adachi arresting everyone in a fight.

Aside from the game doing a bit of disservice to Ichiban and making it a very clear and obvious send off for Kiryu (again but i haven't played Yakuza 6, so never had the first one), its defo worth the play through, and has the usual serious and then highly comedic moments, you never know what a Yakzua/Like a dragon game will throw at you.

For a brief moment in time i will be in the Top 6 pissheads

But for the cheap price and it keeps my unga bunga caveman brain happy.

Rum, beer, quests and mead, These are the things that a drunkard needs!

As someone who doesn't play JRPGs or hasn't touched the Yakuza franchise before, I mean hell I don;t even write reviews.

But damn this game makes me want to play more. Having watched a friend play Infinite Wealth and then seeing there was a Pirate Yakuza coming out (I'm a sucker for Pirates, bite me), recommended I start here to get at least the run down into the new game. I was not left disappointed.

Yeah the start was slow with all the cut scenes, but it only intrigued me more about the characters and the story, watching them grow throughout, and as the chapters rolled by, I just kept getting sucked more and more into the game. The last 15 hours of this game, I simply did not want to put the game down (which is annoying when at 2am you realise you have to be up at 7 30 and you ACTUALLY need to sleep). The story always knew how to keep you on your toes, and yeah like i'm sure it did with many others, the ending broke me.

I'm so torn on whether I just move onto Infinite Wealth or head all the way back to Yakuza 0. but all I know for sure is that when I do come back round to this game for a second playthrough/100% achievements, I will enjoy it as much as I did the first time round.

This game alone has persuaded me to play through the whole Yakuza saga and I can't wait to see where that takes me.
