Palworld is often called "Pokemon with guns" by the general public, and I'd be lying if I said that wasn't an accurate comparison. But don't be fooled, this game actually has a lot more to it than just a few hours of shooting and catching things. I'll share my thoughts on the game in its current state as someone who bought it around launch day when the hype was high.

The game itself plays a lot more like Ark Survival Evolved or Rust if anything, the actual guns themselves aren't really obtainable until early-midgame and even can be outshone by a few other weapons like specific bows or items from other game collabs.

Building is not the games best strong suit, as base size by default can feel small and the restrictions for where objects can go can sometimes get irritating, but a majority of the time you can make something very nice looking- and the Pal pathfinding in bases itself does its job just fine as long as you are logical with where you put things.

Now onto the main controversy with this game: The Pals
You will see places such as Twitter often calling this game out on copyright, claiming for models to be stolen or for designs to be AI generated. These were debunked long ago, and 90% of the Pals in this game don't even share resemblance to actual Pokemon themselves. A small handful from launch day obviously parody them, but in a manner that is clearly distinct and only visual while the Pal itself is pretty much enjoyable as its own thing. The only one I will actually shoutout here as being questionable is Verdash.

The game comes built in with a randomizer as well as both player and Pal permadeath if you are the kind of person interested in trying a nuzlocke. Servers run generally well and lag free. PvP often relies on how well bred your pals are, but the arena itself has options to blacklist "meta" Pals if you don't wish to fight them. I'd love to see the Arena one day get online functionality rather than being server-locked, but as it stands it works fine right now.
Tower and Raid bosses are a blast to go through with friends and other guilds, and are pretty self explanatory as bulky unique Pals that you receive as rewards for besting in battle.

I have NOT yet tried overworld PvP which was recently added, so I cannot share my thoughts on it specifically. But overall I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the Survival and Monster Catching genres, as well as to Pokemon fans who want a unique twist.

(Final note: Believe it or not, this game actually expects you to treat your Pals right. It's story is quite nice and interesting, you should look into it.)

I'm an early backer for this game, and honestly I cannot recommend it.
The dev has abandoned their previous project, and this one is moving at a snails pace development wise.
Playing the original demo I received along with the current version has proven there is little to do besides grow a bit bigger and treat the game like a chatroom sim. A few new dragons have been added, but in a bare bones state that makes them feel like a skeleton of what they could be. I think this game should be focusing entirely on developing its actual mechanics rather than being an empty world with little to do.
It's just a shame cause I really looked forward to the idea of an MORPG dragon game.

At this time I can only suggest people look into Wings of Dawn instead, despite it being in the survival genre and unreleased as of writing this. Its demo was more promising and their Discord/Backer channels actually show focus on development as well as a fully transparent google doc on how that game is expected to be developed and played.

Jeb exists.
Jokes aside though, genuinely good game to play either vanilla or modded with friends, the hype behind this one has some actual backing as long as you don't mind the simple gameplay loop.
This game is scarily good at making moments that feel scripted yet are completely random and hilarious, while also being quite unnerving at times.

I had a lot of good memories in this game, but I cannot recommend anyone to buy it now.
The playerbase has shrunk quite a bit, and it simply has no content to keep you interested in with the lack of player interaction besides the skins and animals that are unlockable. (And once you know where those unlocks are located, you can grind them out very fast and get everything in a few short hours.)

The game appears to be abandoned, as the developers haven't updated us in a long time leaving it to the forum moderators to keep the game active with player meetup events, and after the flop of Shelter 3, I don't think this game will ever come back to its feet.

Spend your money on Shelter 1 or Shelter 2 if you are interested in a more engaging experience.

Gregor my beloved. If anyone harms the roach man I will kill everyone in this bus.

Anyways, this game is really good. I've been following Project Moon since 2016 or 2017, and have been a big fan of their work from the start. Though I can agree that at times their gameplay design is very harsh and not welcoming towards fresh players to the franchise.
(The difficulty spike is vertical)

Limbus is technically a gacha, made my devs that don't know how the hell a gacha works. This makes it actually really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good, because you can basically never spend a dime and be able to get through all of the game content as long as you dedicate yourself to your mirror dungeons. The devs also give out free currency constantly which is very easy to rack up and pull on whatever your heart desires, and RNG is fairly generous in pulls.
The battle pass is also very worth it if you do find yourself interested in this game for the long term, it's only $10 for months worth of benefits, but the only thing it'll really do is let you farm crates faster and give one or two EGOs you'd otherwise shard as a purely F2P.

The story is peak as per usual in Project Moon fashion, and is the main draw of the game of course. If you are only playing this game for a gacha to pull things, you will be very disappointed.
Unlike some gacha games, this one actually expects you to have a brain and to properly play it.
You will not have your hand held, you will be curb stomped on the city sidewalk, and you will be treaded over by nearly all of the bosses past chapter 2.

Not all identities are made equal unfortunately, some are undoubtedly better than others, but nerfs are very rare to happen unless they are absolutely game breaking. Talisman Sinclair is currently being nerfed and some cry babies that only care about the meta are crying as a result of it, but be rest assured that this is a healthy change to the game.
t also doesn't help that people saw the devs consider refunding mao faust, and thus greedily mass-pulled her banner thinking they'd get her scott-free only to whine more when their greed bit them in the ass and the devs decided to nerf talisman who was the true root of the problem in terms of ruptures balance.

Drama about game meta aside, I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys gore, horror, strategy, and in general a really good dark dystopian world. Limbus is fairly welcoming to people lore-wise that haven't played the last two games, but you may find yourself confused with them throwing around terms you don't recognize and expecting you to know them.

Best 0.74 cents of my life.
Ignore all the negative reviews, people think that "MonkaS", "Man", and "GG EZ" are promoting toxicity when they unironically are the actual toxic ones.

Worth the buy if you want a bit of humor to lighten your mood after your death!

I had the pre-order of this game gifted to me around my birthday (somewhere around August) after this game was on my watchlist for quite some time.
The launch of the game was a bit buggy, but I personally encountered nothing game breaking that a quick save file reload didn't fix.

The gameplay is simple, you have some micromanaging of your cult in a sort of parody animal crossing style. On the other end, there is a basic dungeon crawling system where you take one weapon, one spell, and simply click to attack what is near (or far) from you. I've heard a lot of people give the game bad reviews because of this combat system, but personally I think it adds to the game pretty well. Not everything needs to be Dark Souls level difficulty, or crazily complex. It definitely helps in making sure that just about anyone could pick up the game if they are interested in it.

The characters absolutely won this game into my heart however. (Looking at you, Sozo.)
The bishops are pretty 2D in terms of personality, but it doesn't mean they are devoid of them. Kallamar and Shamura are personally my favorites, but I like all four of them at the end of the day. There's actually a fifth Bishop, Narinder, who tops the previous two in my favorite category.

Anyways, yeah. The story doesn't go into insane levels of theory crafting, but it isn't shallow either. You could argue it isn't as replayable because of that, but I quite enjoy just seeing my cult go through the days, and occasionally refighting the bosses with fun self-given challenges like no-hit, demon-only, or weapon specific playthroughs.

Game is being review bombed for a specific part of the community not liking the ending as I type this, so I'm doing my part by balancing it out and leaving a positive review.

Library of Ruina is the sequel to the game Lobotomy Corporation, though you can easily play this game and get an understanding on the story even if you haven't played the previous game, even if it means a few things might confuse you a bit more.
It's a story-based battle sim, taking place in a library. Your goal in this library is to invite guests, fight them to the death, and turn them into books. With these books you can either invite stronger guests, or burn them to access the pages, which can serve as both your attacks and armor.
The game is a bit known for having specific parts of the game where difficulty may bottleneck (the first chapter of Star of City is a prime example of this) which can discourage anyone who wants a relaxed gameplay session, but needless to say the game is very worth looking into if you enjoy deck building, strategy, and some overall good story telling.
I can't say much else without spoiling both games.

Update: Still an amazing game, you should totally grab it if you haven't already.

Here is my stupid recommendation of Rain World, originally typed in Discord.
So I present to you, a small rant for why Rain World is an amazing game you should try one day, if you aren't inclined to easily give up on games with a higher difficulty.

1. You are a cat. And a slug. You just are an adorable little thing.

2. The animation isn't pre-rendered. The game uses 2D sprites made with every "perspective" and angle in mind, the creatures of the game then turn, climb, attack, and jump in a fluid manner that you wouldn't normally get otherwise.

3. The in-game world is real time, with every single maps creatures all going about their own lives and tasks at the same time, even when off screen. Yes, this means that red lizard you saw hunting you has probably been tracking you for the past four maps before attacking.

4. The game has a reputation system. If you hunt too many predatory creatures in succession, overtime the species you've been attacking will fear you, and is more likely to flee or attack if cornered rather than charge straight for you. If you've befriended a lot of creatures in the meantime, they'd be less inclined to attack you, curiously will follow, or even save you from other predators in the game.

5. There are loads of creatures in the game, some are predator, others are prey. Each has it's own reactions to the player depending on their reputation, and may even have subspecies. (for example, green lizards are large and bulky, while pink lizards are smaller, but with the capabilities of climbing after the player)

6. The story is post apocalyptic, with manufactured and routine rains generated from dying machines risking to flood life off of the world you live in. get food, hibernate through the rains, and pursue these machines to find the answer on how to save yourself from the curse of a repeated cycle of life. Also has beautiful cutscenes.

7. Repeatability. There are loads of easy to install mods, HUGE regions in the game to explore, lore to be uncovered through pearls, and a hard mode where death is severely punishing, eventually resulting in actual insta-death.
(did I mention this game is a bit hard? it requires a lot of learning of the environment and AI to progress thoroughly.)

And so ends my Rain World rant.|

Watcher DLC is amazing by the way don't let the reviews lie to you, people got too used to Downpour being linear and cried when they had to explore again.
