Farenheit is a game that has been compared to the Matrix in it's wacky story achetype. The real congruance in the stories lie almost in the pace at what they are told. About half way threw, Fahrenheit suffers from invalidating it's own premise (as a video game, not a story.)

For the first several hours of play, we are lead to believe this game is a form of law and order police drama where you are playing two sides of the same story. Seemed rather original; as it was a throwback to the adventure games I used to love growing up.

However; somewhere halfway threw this game loses it's direction and almost forget's it's a game. Gone suddenly is the feeling that exploring the environments matter. Suddenly it becomes apparent that choices and adventuring become unimpactful on the story.

The biggest tragedy comes about in the endings of the game. Like Mass Effect 3, no matter how the player chooses to live the daily lives of the main charectors, we are left to realize that none of the adventure aspects in this adventure game matter. The endings are only up to choises made in the very last sequence of the game, as if the creators forgot we were emotionally attached to the journey getting there. This left me with a hollow feeling, as if in real life scenarios lacking closure.

This game could of benefited from endings with more ties to the unique perspective of each players journey. Instead, we as players are given an illusion that there us freedom to partake and a world to expierence and mold. But sadly in the end we realize this isn't the truth. It's unfortunate the developers chose to embrace a story driven second half and leaving the player to wonder where their impact in the game truly game from.

It's really sad to see a (Great first half) game ruined it's own creditability by being daring in story (which is nice) but ruining away from what made it truly intriquing. Despite, the voice acting was wonderful, the remaster graphics we're great, and the pace of the gameplay varied at points and the game never felt boring.

Despite the erradict decline in gameplay half way in, The story has many twists and turns and flat out "WTF" moments that are engaging. The game maintains interest throughout because of it's good story pace. The ultimate conclussions seems to fall somewhere between the matrix and a dragon ball z storyline.

It's just sad the gameplay couldn't keep up that the storyline's quality shines in.

It is still a steal for 10 dollars. Worth playing and enjoying despite it's flaws. It's just a shame I felt so detached from what began as a very promising game to start.
