After some thorough research, I have concluded that Destiny 2 is in fact, a ♥♥♥♥ game. :)

I retract my statement, this is not a ♥♥♥♥ game I just wanted to post a negative review after thousands of hours. :D

Back in 2018 my close mate Cole invited me to try Destiny 2 with him because it had gone free for a week or something at the release of Forsaken way back when the game was on Blizzard.

This was my first time hearing or seeing anything about the Destiny franchise and Cole was unbeknownst to me, a Destiny 1 veteran. Needless to say, I was in awe of the things he could pull off even after he had created a fresh account due to him being a console player at the time. The times I spent with him aimlessly wandering around the EDZ, IO, Titan, Mercury and Mars beating up any dregs that looked at us funny. I will never forget those times, I will cherish those times until the day I die.

We never had a team of 6 or anything like that, until Shadowkeep released it was just us two. Our first completion of the Whisper mission, slugging it out with the taken almost up until the bell rung, but we prevailed, we were now proud owners of Whisper of the Worm. Completing escalation protocol together in hopes of getting the Ikelos Shotgun. Getting my hands on that sweet sweet Blade Barrage when I finally forked over the cash for Forsaken.

Oh my god, playing through Forsaken for the first time with just the two of us. Destiny 2 was the first shooter game I had ever played and up until this point, I had never really played anything with what you would call a campaign so something this much fun was all new to me. Hunting down all the barrons and avenging the ever loved goofball, Cayde-6. Those days where meta weapons and optimal loadouts never so much crossed as a thought in my mind, Destiny 2 was a different kind of game back then.

The mysterious fallen transmittor leading to our run through Zero Hour for the first time and of course, our very brutal run-in with TR3-VR (miss ya buddy). Finallt getting our hands on Outbreak Perfected after yet again, very nearly runnning out of time, finishing off the final boss with whatever primary ammo we had left.

Finally when Shadowkeep released and the rest of our friends reluctantly tried the game out, we eventually had the people available to do our first raid, Leviathan. After 4 hours and 23 minutes, we finally managed to take down Calus and claim the loot and joy of our first ever raid completion.

Fast forward to a few months before the release of Beyond Light, most of my friends had pretty much stopped playing the game altogether at this point. I would turn on the game most days and just wander around the planets looking for ways to get out of the map and look for secrets.

I miss the forbidden doughnuts on Titan (The leviathan that you can see in the water is just three spiky rings :D). Making my way through the Whisper mission without a timer or enemies. Mercury can stay vaulted, it was not a fun planet. Exploring the endless halls of Rasputin.

And now to the present day, having accumulated thousands of hours on this game, taking the piss out of raids (they are just slightly harder strikes at this point). Spending ungodly amounts of time messing around in custom games with my now very dedicated group that I play with (Cole is still part of that group gladly).

After having played so much of this game and getting every single piece of gear I could ever want, there isn't really anything to grind for anymore but oh boy, when Bungie releases something like that Lightfall trailer, you can bet your sorry ass i' hopping on the hype train. No company can get me giddy like Bungie does.

Destiny 2 is where I belong, Destiny 2 is where I stay.
