Hackers don't get banned. The standalone launcher is the only reliable way to play. The standalone application being phased out. 6 year outstanding issues with playing the game though stores have not been fixed. The store version still is not properly configured and results in the entire application being redownloaded when files are verified. Matchmaking is laughable and regularly puts players in games with 200ms+ pings without providing players any way to filter games by ping. All that said I still play. I hope the devs have a good reason for the ongoing issues.
