I'm not really a 'cozy game' kind of dude - but the old school Anime / JRPG aesthetic, great soundtrack, and simple gameplay is definitely comfort food for me when I don't want to think. I actually find the characters here very well done both through dialogue and subtle animations. The dialogue is well written and doesn't feel patronizing or dramatically 'ideological' - just normal people living their lives. Of course there's definitely some of that 'everything is great all the time!' vibe which can be a bit off putting to me personally - but understanding the tone of the game and not going in expecting the real shades of human existence - it's just a well crafted 'chillout game' in my opinion. I've never for a moment felt the need to look up a guide or put a video up in the background. It's a full attention worthy experience since the core experience is so polished- highly recommend if you like the aesthetic. Give it a chance!
