They say we are stronger as a group than as individuals. That is a complete lie because my friends and I become idiots whenever we play this game.

Beautiful game in terms of aesthetic, storytelling, and music. Expedition 33 is an amazing experience that I recommend for anyone that likes the turned based genre. Especially those that were really into JRPG's of the past.

Gameplay uses a turned based system similar to old school FInal Fantasy, or niche PS1 RPG's such as Legend of Dragoon. The gimmick is that you are allowed to parry or dodge during the enemy attacks to completely mitigate damage. Doing so feels rewarding, but is also incredibly difficult until enough time has been spent with a specific enemy. Abilities are driven by AP instead of MP that is generated throughout the fight - this means that you can go all out in any battle instead of trying to conserve mana between weaker encounters. The progression system is akin to Final Fantasy IX where you equip an item that has a passive ability then after awhile your entire team permanently learns that passive, and can be equipped. There are a boatload of these abilities to make insane builds. My favorite aspect is that every playable character has their own set of abilities, and mechanics so they feel truly unique.

Narrative is among the most unique I've seen in a game. There are many heartfelt and heartbreaking moments that make it unforgettable. If you enjoy storytelling that is nuanced, emotional, and character driven then this would be right up your alley. Voice acting is solid although lip sync leaves room for improvement, but with everything else so well executed my lip synch critique becomes easy to overlook. The game is equally as tragic as it is enthralling. I would rank the story very high up with some of the most memorable RPG's ever created.

The soundtrack is one of the greatest I've heard in a video game. Over 8 hours of music spread across different 154 tracks were composed. Every biome has its own unique soundtrack for both the exploration, and battle themes. Including multiple orchestrated masterpieces. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 wouldn't be what it is without the music. They uploaded their entire soundtrack onto YouTube for free under the page of the composer "Lorien Testard". Even if you decide the game is not for you then I would encourage still checking out his work.

All of this is impressive especially when you consider this is the studios first game, the small size of the studio, and the asking price of $50 within an industry that is becoming increasingly more aggressive with monetization. Regardless of these details Expedition 33 earns its place based on its own quality. You can tell a lot of passion went into developing the game. It is a testament to efficient resource management, and creative freedom that isn't hindered by executive overreach.

I absolutely recommend Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 if you are a fan of turned based, older JRPG's, and story rich experiences. A single play through ranges from 25-60 hours depending on how much side content you do. It offers a new game plus and the picto/lumina system provides a large amount of replay value as well. This was an experience that will stick with me for the rest of my gaming career.

It may not be for you if turned based combat is an absolute deal breaker. Also the title is a little linear which in my opinion is to its own benefit, but that might not be for everyone. Difficulty can also be a turn off to some. While a lot of that can be offset with build crafting and leveling there is some optional content that does punish you quite heavily for not being able to parry/dodge. There are settings to improve this, but to my understanding even the lowest difficulty does not remedy every situation. However, this critique turns into a huge positive for those that enjoy being challenged and are patient enough to endure getting their face smashed in once in while.

In conclusion I would encourage you to please give Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 a look. Its a beautiful game that when it clicks it is one of the best experiences you will ever have, but like with all games it won't click with everyone.

Pretty fun with friends. Sent out many burgers that were missing the top bun. Bros got mad then assigned me to stock duty.

First task was to get pickles from the freezer that can only be opened from the outside.

10/10 would hypothermia again.

This game has shamelessly consumed the entirety of everyone's weekend. Crops have not been harvested. Wives have not been loved. Search parties have not returned because they also got addicted to 'Path of Exile 2'.

All of that tragedy aside the game is great. It carries over nearly everything that made PoE 1 as good as it was then dipped it into a layer of chrome, and polish. There are some major differences between the two so its great that the developers are committed to keeping both supported. The difficulty is the biggest point of controversy which I found to be manageable so far despite a couple bosses having high spikes. Some players will hate this, and others will love it.

So far the only thing I absolutely despise is the ascendancy trial. The honor point system is a poorly thought out idea that neuters defensive builds, and even some melee focused classes from acquiring their ascendancy skill points as early as the others. That being said this is just one questionable design in a massive game that does a lot right. Being still in early access there is a lot that is subjective to change.

If you are a fan of ARPG's like Diablo or Grim Dawn then this is a must play even if you never tried PoE 1. It might not be for everyone especially with the difficulty, but if it clicks then it is definitely a fulfilling gaming experience.

The gameplay isn't bad, but the strategic depth is not there. There is not a lot of variety of units, and progression is incredibly linear. It is enjoyable for about 30 minutes before it started to feel like I saw everything it had to offer.

100% took 3 hours and even that felt like a grind because progression is slow. The rewards for the progression don't feel tangible and are difficult to notice. Even at $5.00 the amount of genuine entertainment didn't feel worth it.

I recommend if you just want an easy 100%, or were curious about how an actual game based on those ads feel. Don't recommend in general.

Fun, affordable, and addicting. Good cozy game to pass the time. Opening packs is satisfying and making profit feels rewarding. Looking forward to future updates this game has to offer.

Most unrealistic part is that the smelly spray is my #1 highest profit margin commodity.

Regardless of your opinions on Palworld if a lawsuit based on alleged "patented game mechanics" is successful it will establish a very bad precedent for ALL games going forward.

With that being said, I do recommend Palworld just on the merrit alone that it's a fairly enjoyable game especially with friends. Playing solo is enjoyable too although it can be easy to burn out before reaching endgame. There is a fair amount of charm with the concept of adorable monster to catch mixed with some darker implications. Not being a full priced game solidifies the recommendation as well.

Baldurs Gate 3 is definitely a recommended title from me. A single playthrough can keep you entertained from 70-100 hours. The replay value is insane, and the amount of builds you can make keeps the combat system exciting even after hundreds of hours. Presentation is fantastic with good visuals, and talented voice acting. Its the perfect RPG to play solo, or with a friend. Modding community is already off to a great start giving this game potential longevity for many years to come.

Only downside I can think of is that it can be a learning curve for anyone not familiar with 5E rulesets, or world interactivity mechanics the game engine provides. Stealth mechanics can be a tad janky and unattractive at the surface level until the player takes time to learn/understand them - although its usage is still fairly consistent and rewarding.

I found the game to be worth it as a huge RPG fan, but a more casual fan of the genre wouldn't be in the wrong to wait for a sale. There is great attention to detail with the small deviations that can occur between each play through depending on how to built your character, or the party members you choose to take with you. It definitely earned its spot as 2023's game of the year in my opinion.

The pinnacle of 2000's RTS games. Every faction feels unique and enjoyable. A large amount of strategic depth. Voice lines and presentation might come off as outdated, but it is still a huge part of the charm. Red Alert 2 and this are worth the price of the C&C bundle alone.

The Zero Hour expansion just makes everything better. Now each faction has three "generals" that specialize in different strengths in exchange for defined weaknesses. There is a campaign, skirmish, and generals challenge mode to accumulate a worthy amount of playtime.

Major downside is that this release is nothing more than just the old original borderline outdated version onto the Steam store without any additional patches or support. Native multiplayer doesn't work without 3rd party support. It can be a technical nightmare sometimes. It is nice that the games are accessible at least, but fans of the franchise might find themselves disappointed if they were expecting something more than what already existed on the original version.

Thankfully it does have a dedicated, and competent support community that has not only made multiplayer accessible but also created a launcher that allows all of the popular mods to easily be downloaded/switched. This program is called "GenLauncher" which is easy to find on the "ModDB" with a google search. This launcher is really easy to install, and setup which adds a ton of mileage to the game itself. Definitely recommend if you are not afraid of a small amount of modding. You can then switch the executable to the launcher so you still can start it using Steam, and keep track of your playtime hours if your into that.
